Is San Fran a good team? Philly was always a bad matchup for us. Especially with our defense and OL banged up. I’m gonna assume X and Holland are back next week. Our D is trending healthier and more comfortable in this system. I was afraid of Philly going into that game cause of the matchup. I don’t really fear KC.
How are they figuring KC is still number 1 seed? The Chiefs and the Dolphins have exact same record, conference record, division record!
I’m going to assume that unless a player is on IR, all of our starters who can play, will play. We have a bye after next week. Rest and recovery afterwards.
Crazy day in the NFL. Three QBs go out with injuries. Washington blows another game against the Eagles. Broncos hold the Chiefs to 9 after giving up 70 and trading/cutting 2 defenders. Giants gift the Jets a win. 49ers lose their third in a row. Finally, the Cardinals actually recovered an onside kick. Whew - glad Miami held serve and won today.
Strength of schedule is subjective. When our schedule was released, it was instantly deemed a difficult schedule. Herbert and the Chargers!! Oh no! Broncos with Payton and Wilson! The Jets twice with Aaron Rodgers The Bills, Eagles, Chiefs… Amazing how what was deemed a tough schedule is now viewed as a weak one. We DESTROYED the Broncos and yet, the Chiefs just lost to those same Broncos. If that’s the criteria they’re using, it’s crap.
Strength of victory, which isn't point differential, but the composite record of all teams we've played, and KC has played tougher opposition, so they're still #1. They list strength of victory ahead of strength of schedule as far as tiebreakers. The difference is apparently that strength of schedule takes into account the records of the opponent's opponents.
The defense getting used to the system and starting to buy in and going from a below average to even something in the 10-15 range would be huge. We have to be able to play complimentary team ball. As for San Fran, they are getting blueprinted. The Vikes and Bengals both had similar plans and both worked - stack the line, attack the box, limit McCaffery and make Purdy beat you. So far, he hasn't. But like I said, the Bengals are a problem. They start slow for some reason, and the Burrow calf injury was really hurting them, but they are really good once they get hot.
A solid win which without turnovers In our own territory would have been one sided game. Happy with the end result.
Bonus for getting Taylor Swift fans to watch the NFL. We can only hope she is NOT at the game in Germany.
Im not so sure anymore if san francisco is a good team lol theyre not terrible obviously but i dont consider them as contenders. their quarterback plays like a 7th round pick.. they need deebo samuel back now more than ever.. and their defense has not looked very dominant. Nick bosa signed the richest extension in history for defense and has made minimal impact.
It’s not even elite QB standard that is used against Tua, it’s some made up perfect standard. Maybe it’s all the perfect games that Tua has played over the last 20 games that have warped their minds into what is good QB play and what is not. Yesterday he threw for over 300 yards, 3 TD’s and another 100 passer rating against one of the better defences in the league with 4 backup OL protecting him which when you think about it is a brilliant day for most QB’s.
They have a wicked division and their schedule only gets harder. They have the Bills, Texans, Ravens, Steelers then the Jags.
I think we found out who Hitman and Stale Tacos are. LoL. Sour grapes are a real thing, and it appears that a couple of media types from the Boston area were munching on a bowl of them after the Dolphins dispatched the New England Patriots 31-17 on Sunday. Tom E. Curran and Phil Perry of NBC Sports Boston were conversing after the game on Curran's Patriots Talk Podcast, and the subject of how the Dolphins' offense could be better came up. Curran and Perry were discussing the game, and the subject of Tua Tagovailoa came up. Perry, in particular, pointed out the Dolphins' signal caller as a hindrance to Miami's offense realizing its full potential. "How would the Dolphins offense become better? I would say you would get a better quarterback," Perry said. Curran cuts in, saying "ok, it's funny you say that because I was thinking you were saying the quarterback was sublime." "No, I think he holds them back to some degree," Perry responded. "They probably could have had more points. They might have scored 40 if they had somebody with maybe a little bit more arm and a little bit more off-schedule sort of playmaking ability." What the Boston-based duo here are discussing is objectively ridiculous, given what Tagovailoa has accomplished so far this season. Tua leads the NFL in passing yards, touchdowns, yards per completion, and passer rating. He's played at as high a level as anyone in the NFL this season. The Patriots have defeated the Dolphins twice since Tua was drafted. Those two losses? Started by Ryan Fitzpatrick and Teddy Bridgewater. Tua has beaten Bill Belichick and the Patriots the other six matchups. As such, perhaps the Perry and Curran should worry more about their own floundering quarterback rather than a legitimate league MVP candidate.
Did they say Mac Jones, a below average QB in the NFL, would do as well as Tua — the current #1 statistically — if he only had McDaniel and Hill? That's hitman8's position (fantasy-land view) so that would be a tell-tale sign lol.
That's fair, but they have looked like a completely different team the last few weeks. We need them to win all those games
In 1995 the San Francisco 49ers had a very efficient left handed QB knocking on the door for a Super Bowl and in came the best CB in the league to put them over the top. Can history repeat itself?
1994 That team also had the #1 offense. Main difference is the defense. They had the #6 defense while right now we're #25. Statistically we're more similar to Indy in 2006 (#2 offense, #23 defense) and Saints in 2009 (#1 offense, #20 defense). In both cases those defenses played well in most playoff games, even if they didn't in the regular season. That's what we need to do: the defense needs to peak for the postseason.
Bob Hayes ran a sub-nine second split in the Tokyo Olympics 4 x 100 that, as a dash instead of a leg in a relay, would have shattered the 100 meter dash record to this day. It remains the fastest leg of a 4 x 100 ever. He's probably the only Cowboy that I ever liked.
Great to see him finally turn the corner - although, it’s another guy who’s going to have to be paid.
Not necessarily. Austin Jackson has finally had a good season. Make it 2 solid seasons in a row, then you can talk about a contract.
