I'm hearing it on The Scott Van Pelt Show right now but I'll find a link. This doesn't really come as a surprise. I think what this does is only confirm that Tate and Clausen will come out. As for Weis himself, he's probably going back to the NFL IMO. Possibly as a QB coach or OC. I also wanted to share that I've read from unnamed people - not on this site - who have attended the Patriots practices before (when Weis was there) that Weis is one of the worst personalities that they have seen, in terms of his respect toward his players. He belittles them and treats them like trash by constantly tearing them a new one verbally.

He will have several options as an offensive coordinator waiting on him, not likely to be a positional coach.

Honestly wouldnt mind seeing him here in Miami next season, although it is highly unlikely.

My guess? Cleveland. Reunites with Mangini and Brady Quinn.

I'm not really sure. Is it just me or has NE's offense opened up a bit without Weis? Plus, I know Belichick has a lot of say in the offense.

Quinn I can see but I don't know how long Mangini sticks it out there.

I would say he atleast gets another year, I mean one year is really unfair for anyone ecspecially when you inherit that garbage team. Weis could even save his job perhaps. Should be interesting watching it play out.

Long overdue IMO. Willingham never had such a long leash.

I have no respect for this piece of crap. He is similar to Rex Ryan. Overrated, arrogant, and a self-righteous douche. When Charlie got to Notre Dame, he shot down their offer and demanded more money. F*** him.

Yes, it's unfair but he hasn't made the team better. At all IMO. Besides, if or when they get a new GM, he's screwed IMO.

That's the direction Cleveland is headed. Mangini's days are numbered.

Agreed. I think working with Belichick has gotten him quite big headed, which seems to run in his coaching tree.

His recruiting alone earned him more patience than Ty imo. It's clearly the right move to fire him. But I had no problem with them giving him another year with Clausen/Tate/Floyd etc. Players Ty would have no chance of closing. And it kept Manti Teo from going to USC, so I cant be too upset with it lol

If Mangini stays in Cleveland, I say its a good chance Weis winds up there. If not, I think he'll go back to NE.

If Mangina gets fired again, would he set an NFL record? Fired from two different teams in two consecutive years. Anyone know?

    The guy sucks a$$.

I thought Willingham did ok in recruiting. Brady Quinn wasn't even on the map or highly sought after. I think you're underestimating the recruiting skills of a black D1 head coach. Randy Shannon has done an excellent job recruiting in the wake of a disaster Larry Coker left him.

I always thought Willingham deserved to finish out his contract, but ND jumped the gun to hire the big name in Weis.

Now, I'm not saying either are/were great coaches, but they basically fired a guy mid-contract to hire an equal IMO.
