Groves, Lofton, Avril, or Lawrence Jackson.
-
Woo! Im glad its a done deal. No more arguing and bickering back and forth!! No more stressing out about who were going to pick!! I'm happy with the pick, but as i've said all along Id be happy with either Long. Im happy with Jake because he's going to help our line bigtime, which will help our passing game, and definately help our running game.
Welcome to the Dolphins Jake!!!
and thanks for making an ohio state fans praise and be proud of a Michigan player!!!!
Bring on round 2!! -
Lofton, LB, Oklahoma
-
See Miami loves Ohio St and Michigan equally. See Ohio St one year then Michigan the next.
-
sorry Adamprez i know you wanted Matt R.
-
hey guys go over to draft forum(Sports Illustrated Film Room) and look at Film of the newest OL
-
welcome to the dolphin family jake
-
Welcome home Jake!
O-Line is now looking really good! -
BTW there's gonna be a press conference on NFL Network in a bit.
-
Holy crap this guy is freakin huge!
-
Made Ireland and Sparano look like hobbits.
-
"At de end od a day...alright....Jake Long is a Miami Dolphin, ok" -Coach Sparano
-
Im thinking the biggest reason we took Jake is because he's a safe choice, and and incredibly talented Tackle... but also because the few flaws that he has... Sparano... an offensive line guru will get to work with him and correct those issues and make Jake even more dominant on our line. that alone, is great news.
-
long/satele anchoring this line for a long time will be a site to see
-
definately exciting!!! Dont forget about Smiley too though!
Crap, why does this news have to break now... Im at work, and im definately NOT working  -
Wow, the phins getting it done. Well done parcells, ireland and crew. No holdouts for us.
Finally maybe a line that can block. maybe now our QB's won't be on their backs or running for their lives. -
i got back from work about an hour ago it is awesome being my own boss, i had to do an estimate on a job
sorry your stuck at work but dont worry this stuff will be replayed all night
but the whole oline is young
LT jake long rookie
LG ?
C samson satele 2nd year
RG justin smiley 5th year
RT vernon carey 5th year
left guard is a question but this oline can be dominant for a long long time imagine ronnie and ricky running behind this line -
:lol::lol: -
Love this!!!
Born in Miami, live in Michigan!!! -
I'm okay with this pick. Obviously, it's going to be hard to watch Chris Long absolutely destroy his opponents and wonder what could have been, but at the same time seeing Jake provide protection for Beck and open holes for Ronnie will be a wonderful sight. :wink2:
Colorado Dolfan likes this. -
I had this kid after Glenn Dorsey and then Chris Long...and I still LOVE the pick. I bet Ronnie freakin Brown is doing one legged backflips right now....Heck, I bet Ricky is lighting one up as we speak....
Colorado Dolfan, Phinperor, ATVZ400 and 1 other person like this. -
Yeah I was a Matt Ryan guy, and still think he will be a great NFL QB for another team, but this was a great pick. I'm certainly not upset by it. Jake Long instantly makes every player on our offense better.
-
And compare last years lineup (Where Ronnie was on a seriously nice pace) to this years.
On the right side anyways we will have Smiley and either Long or V-Carey depending on what transpires in training camp...and Sam will be a year bigger and smarter... -
Absolutely. Having Jake Long means more first downs, which hopefully means more points and less 3 and outs. All this will be a tremendous help on our defense.
-
im pumped....im lovin this!
-
:pity:
Not a fan of this move at all, but I'll support him.
What about Long and Carey on the left side protecting Beck's butt? I'm sure we can find another player in the draft to handle the RT spot, although I think defense needs to be an even bigger priority now. -
With this pick, the NFL already updated their web site for Super Bowl XLIV in Miami.

Somewhere in Miami, John Beck fainted from relief.
