Buffalo GM VanDolPhan just realizes he won the bidding for Mark Anderson DE.......as Mark calls him from the airport wondering where the hell his ride is. And Buffalo welcomes back Mark Anderson at the reduced price of *puts finger to mouth* $1,000,000! Anderson will come off the bench in obvious pass rushing situations spelling Orakpo or Williams...maybe even having all 3 on really obvious passing situations by moving Mario inside. With O'Brien at SLB who is adept at rushing the passer only....it gives Buffalo some intriguing pass rushing options.
Also the Doug Free deal is just more proof that OL bidding could get royally insane in FA. I'm expecting #'s to be above the top real OL out there.
Lol, I guess you didn't see the other quotes I listed by GM Jeff Ireland, HC Joe Philbin, OC Mike Sherman, and QB Ryan Tannehill. I think positive reviews from a HC, GM, OC, and starting QB should suffice. Matt Moore also said some positives about the guy too, but I didn't want to list every single person that said something positive about him. Again we are talking about our 5th WR here, not a starter.
That's a shame considering he only has 19 less catches than your number 4. And just as many touchdowns.
I've always wanted to make my license plate something like that or this "DOODOD" or "8B8BB8" something that is barely different.
You mean the speedy 3rd round pick from the last draft with a tonne more upside? The ACC career leader in kickoff return yardage and standout track athlete? Right now my 3rd WR and 4th WR are my kick and punt returners also. I'm not even sure I'm going with a 5th WR as I'm going more 2 TE based so I may swap that 5th WR for an extra TE. Hey hopefully he gets more known for being a WR then Hard Knocks...but I don't see it. Also has Hogan even caught a ball yet? Cause TJ caught 31...not 19. Ahhh I see...your looking at Damaris. He's actually my #3..he's the slot guy. He's my little Bess...undrafted but did this during the season: and Not bad for a first year undrafted.
Yea, I was totally talking about Damaris. But I will give it to you that he looked good on that one play in that Pre-season game against scrubs that all probably got cut. EDIT: I wasn't trying to make this a pissing contest, but it gets old hearing someone talk crap about a good portion of your moves.
I was just making a joke about Hogan. Sorry he was a touchy subject for yah I just didn't get this whole "I should have kept him" bit over my 3/4 guys ;p
Not just with Hogan, you have been taking quite a few chip shots on our moves this entire offseason. It's fine though. We are big boys and stand by every single move we have made.
I take a lot of chip shots period regardless of who it is ;p That's half the fun of this league. I don't even recall the other chip shots...if it feels like I'm targeting you be sure I'm not doing it intentionally ;p Hell look at the crap I took from GIK over my Corey Webster mistake ;p edit: Hell Bdog's one of my favorite guys to discuss gm league stuff in PM's with so it's nothing about your moves/team. I just like to make fun.
Let's recap the conversation (I'm blue and your red): I welcome Chris "7-11" Hogan to our team. You respond by calling him Chris "I'll be working at 7-11" Hogan. Provoked I make a joke back asking if you were upset you cut him, while providing detail and facts of why we signed him. "Oh heck no. It just reminds me not to make Reggie Bush a general manager." "Lol, I guess you didn't see the other quotes I listed by GM Jeff Ireland, HC Joe Philbin, OC Mike Sherman, and QB Ryan Tannehill. I think positive reviews from a HC, GM, OC, and starting QB should suffice. Matt Moore also said some positives about the guy too, but I didn't want to list every single person that said something positive about him. Again we are talking about our 5th WR here, not a starter." "Yet he couldn't make the 5 spot for me.........and my 5 spot is empty ;p" Again provoked I said something I normally never would have "That's a shame considering he only has 19 less catches than your number 4. And just as many touchdowns. " You mean the speedy 3rd round pick from the last draft with a tonne more upside? The ACC career leader in kickoff return yardage and standout track athlete? He's actually my #3..he's the slot guy. He's my little Bess...undrafted but did this during the season: I never said you should have kept him over your 3/4 guys. I was frustrated and simply tried to point out that he only had 19 less catches than Damaris Johnson, since you said he couldn't even make the 5 spot for you and your 5 spot is empty. Sorry again for saying that. I am usually pretty level headed and never saying anytime negative about others moves or players because I respect their visions as GMs. It won't happen again.
I was just shooting the sh*t so to speak. I took nothing personal man lol. No worries. Hell your WR group blows mine out of the water. Lesson learned. No more jokes about Hard Knocks guys ;p
**** talk away, like I said, my fault. Time to take some midol and hit the sack these cramps are killing me
LOL Hey can't be mean to the guy who gave me quite the deal on Monroe. Too soon? (see I just can't help myself!)
Thanks Venge! Took a bit but I finally got a veteran DT to pair with my young DT's. I figure I can run a true 4 man rotation there for those 2 spots. Running low on draft picks but filling out my spots at least ;p
The Chris Hogan... aka 7-11, pissing contest. I guess it might get honorable mention as GM conflict of the year (or whatever the award is called). The multi colored post by UCF icing on the cake.
for those that are stuck in here and don't read anything else, Hartline is on the verge of a new contract with Miami at 6 to 6.5 m per season.
Hey..I was part of it and I had no idea what was going on. I just thought we were having some friendly crap talking....and then I realized he was serious lol. I mean really.....it's Chris Hogan lol.
Paul's on my side! And it has nothing to do with all the damn draft picks I sent his way *slides another other to Paul*
Wow...ballsy move Venge. I think that's going to backfire though. Too many teams here with a crap tonne of cap room who wouldn't mind giving Jared that type of money you just cut him for.
Hmmmm sign Jared Allen....trade Mario Williams for picks. *ponders budget for Allen* Ok off to bed for night shift. Doubt the Allen bidding will be within my budget anyways...but no guts no glory!
Thats fine... and then I'll add him to my roster... and sign even more players to 50 mil contracts during FA. And then my team with be TOO BIG TO FAIL and the league will have to support me with cap bailouts. And the rest of your pathetic under payed teams will suffer at the hands of the Cam Newton empire. And then I will move to pass GML legislation to remove pads and helmets from all other teams in the NFL... and I will purchase viking helmets and spiked shoulder pads for my players. And because the league will have invested so much money in my team, they wont be able to do anything... and the people will love me for it.
I expect better than this from you VO. This is not the market to be cutting a player and hoping for a huge savings in.
