I actually like it better as a 1 year league with no dead money. First off, as we've seen being a commish is a thankless job. Paul has has to correct over a half dozen instances where teams messed up simple math. Not saying anyone cant do it but Im not wanting to do too much math in a league I do for fun and the amount of work the commish will have to do is asinine. Secondly, the fact that its a 1 year league gives people a chance to go with different teams and different players. What we should do is maybe have the one on Mach's board be the dynasty league and the 1 here be the yearly league that way its not 2 leagues competing against each other and maybe in the dynasty league have the dead money since theres a carry over effect from year to year. As an aside it gives people a choice which rules they like and which league(s) they want to join.
I was thinking something similar in a way. The dynasty/keeper though would be in a sim engine similar to OOTP for baseball on another board, but I was still going to run the yearly one too. Figured mine would be more sim style and TP's would be more arcade style. There's a decent amount of people in both leagues as is. Figure with the downtime in one, the other would be active so for those who get bored, it's constant activity. The logistics for a dynasty league with no results is a nightmare for draft position for one, not to mention contracts and all that, hence why I started looking at game options.
Are you really surprised cutting a player entering his 2nd year that was highly regarded in last years draft? Upside.
