I like this signing far better than Trusnik last year, or even Ike.

Westerman had 18 QB disruptions last season in 153 pass rush snaps. That a ratio of like 1:8, which isn't bad.

 

Who the fvck knows? You could say about a lot of sacks by a lot of players on a lot of teams.

 

Special Teams I take it.

 

Westermann is a gamer, we need gamers.

 

You know things are bad when you try to get excited about this signing. But I wish him well, except for the 2 times he plays the Jets.

 

We need players with heart. I have seen many explosive athletes fail.

Westermann will have a role.

 

If liking the signing this signing better than a special teams signing from last season is getting excited, I would agree with you.

 

Lawson's not even that much better a pass-rusher than Westerman...better in coverage and playing the run, yes, but pass-rushing, no.

19:48 UPDATE! Perhaps not just yet on that Westerman signing (19:38). Manish Mehta of the NY Daily News reports that Westerman and the Dolphins are in negotiations but have yet to reach an agreement yet. A situation to keep an eye on in the next hour.

So, unless you know different, like going back and breaking down every play where he got a sack, a hit on the QB, or a pressure, can't we just give him the benefit of the doubt and a little credit for doing something right on at least some of the plays?

 

So now Westerman, one 'n', is a plugger? Why can't he be explosive and also a gamer??

There are different ways to look at this signing.

1. Compared with Ike Alama-Francis and Jason Trusnik, this is a great signing.

2. Compared with the 4 year, $20 million contract Jeremy Mincey got for being essentially the same player but with less burst, this looks even better.

3. Compared with what we have on the roster already (Misi) and what you need in a situational pass rusher, this is not a good signing.

 

short of signing manning, jackson, winston and williams for a real life madden team, are there any players you people would be happy with? this isn't fantasy football, but you already know that
