I want to see Micah Johnson against the Dallas starters.

I am sold on this kid and think he is going to be a beast in this league.

When I watch him its like seeing a 2nd version of rookie Zach Thomas. He seems to have no fear, has a great sense for the football, and has a hunger for tackling people and destroying them.

Now will he develop into another ZT for us? Time will tell, but so far I see a world of potential for him if he becomes a true student of the game and studies film like Zach did.

Its rare that I get this excited about a player, so I hope that we not only keep him but give him plenty of reps during the regular season so we can see his true ability against top competition.

 

Good against the run, horrible in coverage. Can plug a hole with the best of them, can't beat a RB to the edge to save his life. Reminds me of Jasper Brinkley, another SEC guy.

 

true. micah johnson is a fine downhill player and is a beast against the run.
As a complete ILB he lacks the flexibility IMO
He is a mass of a man and I am rooting for him but he is one dimensional.

This is false. Omar Kelly corrected his tweet later. Sparano has decided on a starting center, but the person starting against the Cowboys is not automatically the starter.

So if you see Berger out there to start, that doesn't mean he'll be there week one. Likewise with Grove.

Personally, I think Grove won this competition last week.

 

Anytime you wanna drive over, you're more than welcome to watch a game. LOL

 

I think Grove has played about the same or slightly better, but salary they've committed probably makes the decision easy.

I like Micah Johnson. I hope he sticks in Miami. With time, he might develop into a more complete linebacker.

 

Although that may be true about his game right now, I think that film room sessions and scheme can put him in the right place to make the plays he needs to make.

I can't think of a specific play right now in all of his pre-season snaps though that he has gotten destroyed by the pass.

I dont know if its because he has improved or if its because he hasnt been really tested by the teams we've played against...maybe both.

 

I think we will see a lot of Roberto Wallace and Patrick Turner this game. The one that steps up wins the 5th WR spot in my opinion.

 

Im not sure what to expect at this point, im just gunna sit back and watch.

 

i really like Micah Johnson, if you listened to my radio show after the dolphins game friday, you would have heard as much. but like rich (conuficus) said on air, teams havent game planned to attack Micahs weaknesses (coverage) yet....so we cant really use his perfomance or, lack of negative plays in coverage as a positive. Because the jury is still out on him.

I like him alot, big menacing guy....and honestly.....has completely outplayed the other 2 ILBs he is imo competing with for a roster spot (spitler, folsom)

We'll see what happens.

 

I stood right behind him during the entire 2nd half. Has a pretty sick Fins - Canes tatt as well. That was part of the "Fin Asylum" section i wrote about :wink2:

 

Micah is def a run stuffer at the moment, but the FO wouldn't have him here if they didn't think him capable of more than that down the road would they ?

 

well after edds went down he was another body for ST and ILB......they are always over turning the roster, but when you have guys like crowder, dobbins and now micah who are all better run stopping ILBs than they are coverage guys.....things get interesting

 

MJ missed a wide open tackle in last game as well....

 

which happens, but if i recall, he slowed him down and the guy was tackled by the olb or DE immediately after.....

 

while I love it, it just doesn't look right in our crib..they seem out of place, but I'll take it...anything is better than fans sitting on their ***.

 

One thing I hope to see Thurs is for the starting offense to put together an early drive without a holding penalty. It seems all preseason every time we get a rhythm we have an offensive penalty that kills us. We have to eliminate those mistakes.

I also made a point during a meeting not enough face painters being around stadiums, and I was promised that they will "tripple" the amount of face painters around the stadium come game day.
