I'm saying that the name-calling has to stop somewhere; let it stop with each of us, within ourselves. Let's stop using exaggerated characterizations of others and their opinions, because the only time that happens is when someone has run out of reasoned arguments and resorts to name-calling and attacks on the person instead of the topic.

The mods got it when it concerns outright insults, but there's quite a lot of room in between reasoned discourse and outright insults; cheap shots like Todd is posting repeatedly, veiled references, exaggerated epithets like "hater" or "homer."

Let's be better than that ****. You think what you think, I'll think what I think, and the chanters will think what they will. It's on each of us.

DJ, I don't know how else to say this, but...there's very, VERY little that fans do that actually affects the team, its coaches or its players.

You want proof? Well, if the Dolphins had listened to me, in the 2010 draft we would have come away with at least Jimmy Graham and Legarrete Blount, and added 1300 yards and 11 touchdowns to our Offense last season.

You think THAT wouldn't have made a difference? But NOOOOOOOOO...they don't ****ing listen to lil ol fan Nabo.

 

Fine, then watch season tickets fade away as they have this offseason. I guarantee you Mr. Ross is not happy about that, and if they don't win this year, they will be gone. Mr. Ross wants to make money, he has a $ 1.1 billion investment to recover.

Your disdain for fans is really ridiculous, because without them, there is no NFL.

 

I respect your opinion very much, on a lot more things then just football, and I understand the whole freedom of speech, and this is just a message board, but Ive said what i've said for a reason, and that's not gonna change..

If I'am wrong about the team, I will admit that I was wrong in my analysis, but I have no aoplogies to make because I have not called names or disrespected posters who have put in some time to come up with their opinion, or any poster in gerneral.

Also, I promise you, players read this board..

 

I have said in 3 or 4 threads that I will man up, and I hope I have to, because I do want them to win. I just don't believe they will. And I haven't seen you yet, say you will start a thread saying you were wrong. And if someone does man up, be it you or me, its the adult thing to leave it at that and move on without hard feelings. Do you think you can do that DJ ?

ALready stated the answer to this but it was ignored. Noone said Henne showed success last year of course they will consider their options, they know their job is on the line, what if Henne does fail and they have noone? well basically they brought it in moore. which is just a emergency stop gap IMO) but that was because of who was available and teh cost to acquire. If they actually gave up on Henne and didnt belive in him, with their job on the line, they would NOT go get a qb? THAT makes no sense. So if they dont believe in Henne and dont get a better option at all costs, then they quit. I dont think they quit, I think they believe in Henne or when factor in what was there and the cost, they felt Henne gv ave them the same value

 

To be honest, people have called me names too. DJ I could care less, and you need to do that too. It is too stressful to worry about that kind of crap. This afterall, is JUST an internet message board. Does it really matter what I or anyone call you or others on the board ? Dude life is too short to worry about this board & the crap that gets posted to it.

I tell you that as a friend, and not someone you have been debating on this board.

Everyone should be able to share their opinion without fear of admonishment. If you see someone making a personal attack, just use the report button.

Just so everyone knows where I stand, I am on this board and pay for club because I quite frankly believe that there are very intelligent fans that love the Phins like I do. I disagree with alot of positions and agree with others. The only thing that will upset me is if someone posts as if dismissing my opinion as worthless.

 

That is why they should be gone, and not have had this chance this year. They have so messed everything up, that in season 4 they are already having to change offensive strategies, rebuild an OLine (which should have been in place by the end of year 2 with a mix of vets & draft choices) instead they still are having to devote valuable time and draft choices on an area of the team that should have been fixed 2 seasons ago. Its not acceptable. Teams like Detroit, St Louis and Atlanta have all started to really fix their problems, and are headed for seasons of success and I feel we will be looking at something like 2 or 3 wins by Thanksgiving and Nolan as interim HC and Mr. Ross looking for the next coaching savior for the Dolphins. I hope I am wrong, but that gut feeling says that is the way this season is headed.

 

I didn't say they were right, but someone has to make them happy. Right now, they are frustrated. This fan base has seen exactly 1 home win in the last 10 home games. That is not close to acceptable.

 

That does cut both ways.....lets see the board get back to its original roots. We all left the other place because it was a zoo, and some very unsavory things happened there.

people who know me on this board, know that I don't have to start a thread on it, hopefully they know that of course my admission of being wrong in this analysis, will happen..

Never once have I called your group who analyze the team a ''boo boo'' group,, or any other name that is on par with homer, blind, or disillusional,or rah rah goody goody club...

When you cross that line you owe more than just an admission of being wrong in your analysis of football.

 

I have not see any respected members call you a name personally or catorgorize you in such a demeaning fashion..

I've told you before, I understood your ways of expressing yourself, and liked you because I knew that in your heart you meant well and loved the team, but when you started using names and undermining analysis that was well reseached, you lost me.

 

Oh I agree that everyone needs to respect each others opinion. We all need to recognize that when someones opinion is so far from ours iyt can appear to be way off base, but even so, respect it, debate it but move on once all points about the topic have been exhausted. or reiterate and rephrase it if you want and keep discussing it but do it in a manner that allows for each to express there sides without reproach

 

First off, no one is checking anyone but me and the rest of the staff.

We've all had a player or two we just couldnt stand on this team at some point and we just have to deal with the fact that not everyone is going to like or feel the same about a given player. We're not going to demonize or admonish anyone for having an opinion at a point in time where the player still has many questions to be answered about his on field play (and I say that as a Henne fan). We're also not going to give a holier then thou lecture on the negative aspects of Henne and then proceed to call people members of the "rah rah club" just because they choose to have faith that a key member of this team may break through.

Most of you in this thread have been a member on this board or the old board for a number of years, act like it. There's 21 posts I had to delete in here after work because of childish giberish being spewed. Get off the "he said, she said" nursery school BS. You all know better.


Now, if you can proceed in a adult manner, and I know you all can because I swear Ive seen you all do it, I will re-open the thread. I would strongly suggest you stick to the topic.

People can have differing opinions and still be friends. I dont see eye to eye with half the board at times and I dont take it personally. We're all friends here (or at least should be treating each other as such) and if someone cant act in that manner then they need to find another place to hang. As a fanbase we arent going to agree on all things 100% of the time especially when its at such a critical position as QB. We all share the same desire to see the team win.

It is what it is dude...you can lead a horse to water...

You could be right and maybe they should have been fired. Reality is they werent. Do I think we have a shot to win it all? Only if the stars align and henne does make that leap and Gates develops. But the thing is we have talent on this team. I am more glass half full. To depressing to me to think of failure.
