I'm just saying what people would say. Sometimes they are correct

No, you’re trying to justify yours and others opinions that Herbert is the better QB by using pundit opinions.

Other than “strong arm and tall” no one has been able to give any objective reasons as to why Herbert is better.

Let's just agree that what pundits would say about a straight up trade between Herbert and Tua is pure speculation given the clear evidence many have changed their minds on Herbert after his massive choke job in the most important game he played. Can't quote stuff from before that game.

No, I'm not really invested in arguing my point of view with you. It's fine if you want to dismiss pundits, I don't care. I'm just saying, I think your view is different than many others. I just post things I see, I don't have some nefarious master plan.

I've said all along that this line of conversation is my own opinion.

I don’t dismiss pundits entirely. There are many out there that give their opinions and back it up with objective reasoning. I guess what I don’t get into is “well pundit so and so said this” arguments. Parroting a pundit isn’t having an opinion. It’s using someone else to speak for you.

Again, other than “tall and strong arm”, no one here has given any reasonable or objective reason as to why they think Herbert is better. And that’s because nearly all evidence fitting that criteria points to Tua being better.

I don't think that's an accurate assessment of positions.

Availability is your best trait, and unfortunately, Tua has significant problems there. Even if I were to grant the premise that Tua is objectively better, I would say that he still isn't. I know I know, Herbert has injuries too.

Also I didn't specify any particular pundits, just that I believe the consensus would overall be, Miami won in a big way.

But maybe I'm wrong, but reading the articles out there, I don't think I am.

There's nothing to suggest Herbert would help us win more in Miami even if he's more available than Tua. That's the part you have to more seriously take into consideration. If it doesn't help win%, either against good teams or in the playoffs, how is that a win for Miami? Being available to choke is not an asset.

I wonder if we’ll ever know what really happened. It’s not exactly the JFK assassination; someone out there has to know something. I’d guess his friends who took the fall were well compensated.

If you think availability is the most important trait for a QB, and that’s why you think Herbert is better than Tua, then just say that. But that has never been the argument until recently after Tua has proven all of the other reasons given by Tua haters that he’s not as good. The goalposts have now shifted to “he’s injured more”. If that’s now your stance I’ll counter with… then why hasn’t he done anything and why does he play worse in the playoffs? Herbert has been the day one starter since 2020. The Chargers have made the playoffs twice and are 0-2. Tua became the permanent starter in 2022. And he’s 0-1 in the playoffs. And the Dolphins played the previous and soon to be SB Champs, in -20F weather, in KC. The Chargers lost to the Jags and Texans. Teams that lost their very next game. The Chargers, with Herbert, and even though Herbert has started 17 more games than Tua, have only won 3 more games than the Tua lead Dolphins.

Dude, it isn't moving goalposts when injuries have been the concern SINCE HE WAS DRAFTED. Concerns can arise at anytime. Doesn't make it moving goalposts.

I was always concerned about two things:

    1. INJURIES
    2. Could he play at high/elite levels without being surrounded by superstars

What superstars are surrounding Tua? Better yet how does Tua play when Waddle or Tyreek are out vs. how they play when Tua is out?

When have I ever advocated for a specific QB over Tua? I haven't. I'm not trying to prove who is better or worse.

Yes you're right. Well then take the injury argument off the table lol.

No I'm talking about Tua. I never argued for Burrow. I've only argued that Tua was a bad pick.
