This team does a lot of things well. It just doesn't do many things very well.

Yes.

 

We try and recover fumbles like infants playing with blocks.

 

Offensively we bore defenses to death. Than occasionally we catch them napping. :up:

 

Red zone defense, stopping the run, punting and kick/punt returns. Off the top of my head.

Good thing we've played 13 games this season instead of 5. Over those 13 games, btw, we're 6th in the league in run defense.

Those are the things we're really good at. If we were better at getting/avoiding TOs our overall record would be much better. If we were also more efficient passing then we'd probably be an elite team. I don't agree with the idea that this team isn't good at anything. I just think there are a few key areas that we lack. Just giving RT time to develop would probably improve one of those areas even if we did nothing else.

This is why it makes sense to build on our strength. Another talented pass rush DE and a ballhawk added to the secondary and we will almost certainly see INTs and strip sacks increase.

 

Offense...needs to be rebuilt...put T'eo ..Barr..Werner..or Jones in front of me and I'll take the scenario of going defense with my first pick more seriously..
