I dont agree with that one bit. We traded for Brandon Marshall because he is a big, talented, dominating receiver who is already established in this league, and we got him for a fairly good value given the potential he had. Now, we were unable to realize that potential with him here, Sparano and company failed miserable. Enter new head coach now... new schemes... new culture to create, and Marshall didnt fit in Philbin's eyes, so off he goes. I dont think for one second that Jeff Ireland sat in his office a few years ago and said... "well... we need a WR... I can't evaluate one properly... so I'll just trade for one. Yup. Thats it! Im a genius! " It's easier to get Marshall, than it is to draft a WR, and hope they are ready to play week 1 of their rookie year. They often take over a year to get acclimated to the speed of the game, and to defenses. So, you pull the trigger on the trade, thinking that since we made the playoffs in 2008, we were the big, explosive offensive piece away. I dont disagree one bit with that trade to bring him here. I also dont disagree with the trade to send him packing. You always send a guy like him packing if you can, a player like him... not so much. At least not without a plan to replace him. And... yes... there is a difference between the person, and the player.

Never thought I would see the day I would admit I miss Brandon Marshal but honestly could understand why they did not want him around a rookie QB. It was quite evident from the get go Philbin thinks Sherman is an offensive genius and since Sherman wanted Tannehill to start then it was so be it. In all truth, Marshal did not want to be in Miami and with the thinkiing of Sherman with sink or swim with Tannehill, no, Marshal would not have been a good fit.

We don't even have a load. More like a dribble.

ATM's problems last year were defensive ones. They averaged almost 40 points a game on offense. Sherman was let go because he didn't have the right kind of personality for recruiting.

This is absurd. Tannehill has sucked the last 2 games because teams figured us out, he doesn't have a #1 WR and the O-line started sucking even more throughout the season.
It's not the end of the world. We just have to change up our game plans and make it through to the best potential draft ever. If Tannehill had the talent for our 4 wins and 3 close losses, he didn't just wake up last sunday and lose all his talent. He broke Marino's rookie QB record for crying out loud! There is no need to talk about putting Matt Moore in. Tannehill needs the experience when the talent increases starting next off season.

Partially true on the recruiting part which I agree. The man has zero personality but his play calling was questioned thoughout his time at A&M he was criticized more then once for not wanting an offensive co ordinator. I will say this though in Tannehills defense, he has no one to throw to. Hartline and Bess throw the fear of the game into no one. Nobody has to worry about us going deep at all because we have no one that gets seperation and no one big enough to go up and fight for the ball. Look at any of the decent teams out there they have both. Do not even need a great QB if you have the right personal. I just never liked Sherman and never will.

I will agree he doesn't have WRs but it does not take a rocket scientist to figure this offense out. Its as simple as simple gets. Not a bad offense when you have at least two top tier receivers and a really good RB. You are not running the ball, no team, if you do not get the people out of the box and with Tannehill back there and no WRs teams are not going to get out of the box.

The thing is with the passing game, Bess and Hartline are at least contributing. Unfortunately no one else is. We had hoped Gaffney would help open things up but he really didn't and then got hurt. Moore made a couple good catches but those were really few and far between. Same with Clay. Fasano is mostly a blocker and has been minimal help as a receiver. The one player who could help most in the passing game is Bush but he's not trusted in pass protection and usually comes out on obvious passing downs. This is one thing that I really disagree with because Bush can be a dangerous receiver. This whole scenario, along with the deterioration of the running game leaves our offense dead in the water.

Same thing would happen with Matt Moore. Same problems, same team, same game plans, ect.
I really think most of our problem is Sherman and lack of talent at WR, and our problem on defense is the lack of talent in our secondary.
The only thing we can do about it this year is mix up our game plans drasticly each week.

Not so, simply put THill playing scared means he rarely lets a Wr even try to make a play for him.

Sherman also is calling plays scared, he's forgotten for us the pass sets up the run and does not stretch the field via scheme.

Put it this way, put MMoore in and watch what happens.
