Jason Allen had 16 ST tackles and downed two kicks inside the 5 yd line, the Pro Bowl players from 2009 had:

The Arizona Cardinals signed Morey March 15, 2007 to a three-year free agent contract. Morey rejoined ex-Steeler coaches Ken Whisenhunt (head coach), Russ Grimm (assistant head coach / offensive line) and Kevin Spencer (special teams) in Arizona.

The Cardinals released Morey on March 17, 2008, but re-signed him on March 26.

Morey blocked a punt in overtime against the Cowboys on October 12, 2008 that was run in by teammate, Monty Beisel, for the game winning touchdown. It was the first time in NFL history that a game was ended in overtime by a blocked punt that resulted in a touchdown.

Ayanbadejo was originally selected by the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent on April 23 1999. In 2000 he played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League and in 2002 he played for the BC Lions, also of the Canadian Football League.

Of course, he was a Phin, between Ayanbadejo and Izzo, how many special teams pro bowlers have the phins had on their roster in the last ten yrs?

Morey only has stats as a Wr and played very little at Wr, he made the pro bowl solely off of his ST efforts.

To me, this is the area that puts Jason Allen on the bubble, he is a decent ST player, but not quite as good as the pro bowl guys, and he makes 1.31 million this season, which is about on par with Brandon London's contract, but the way Sparano approaches the roster, only guys who he can see playing a role at their native position, Allen at Cb or London at Wr will make it on the roster.

That is a part of the reason why I find myself in disagreement with Sparano's general philosophy towards ST and the Roster, to me there is impact to be had in keeping ST specialists, to Sparano he approaches ST as a sort of minor leagues.

I think Allen makes the team regardless.. his versatility for cornerback and safety is too good to pass up, depth wise. His cap hit may be a reason why he will make the team, but I don't think it will be the only reason.

Well, JA may make the team, he may not but if he sticks it won't be because he is our #2 ST player, he has to play CB better to make it.

I'd love it if JA made the pro bowl as a Special Teams gunner, to me it would be a bit of redemption for him.
