What is the Plan for Defensive Tackle?

We locked up Grimes. Indy has plenty of space. They didn't lock up Vontae.

 

I'm with you on this. I don't really follow the logic.

 

If we talked with Grimes about signing him, but then he ended up signing for 11/yr somewhere else, would that mean we 'jettisoned' him and didn't like him as a player?

 

You realize that offering a contract for X amount of money shows the level of interest in someone. If you aren't willing to pay top dollar for a player then you don't really think that highly of him. If you know your offer isn't comparable then you are, in effect, choosing to let that player go.

 

What this thread needs is yet another post about the Colts letting Vontae Davis go. I'd love to be "jettisoned" like that guy.

Understand it a little more with the signing of mitchell today but still don't like letting him go. Unless we have something huge planned for the rest of the offseason then i really don't like it. Would have been more ok with it if we splurged on good young o-lineman today but we didn't.
