What'd you think of our fanbase's overall behavior over the last 5 years?

    Ridiculous and usually embarassing?
    Flamboyant but totally justifiable?
    Prideful and intelligent?

    Key word: overall

For me, any time I see or hear that we're (fanbase) is going to be on tv I expect the worst lol From denouncing us for passing on Brady Quinn, to the Ireland protests and banners to We Want Orton.

I vote embarrassing, but except for all of us ofcourse lol

A lot of it has to do with most people that are living down here aren't from South Florida (myself included), so it's hard to build a real culture. Us not winning recently doesn't help either. One example is when I go to games, the people tell me to sit down because they can't see. Meanwhile its 3rd down so I'm acting a fool trying to make as much noise as possible.

And many random "fans" I talk to or over hear don't know really anything about the team but think they know it all.

Hard for me to say because I don't live down there. For the most part I'd say we're passionate but a little ridiculous.

Your example is a product of the stadium, fans are not engaged into the action because of how far they are from the players, so standing and cheering is futile,it's quite awkward actually.

I don't think the fanbase is stupid as a whole. I think we're all extremely tired of losing and mediocrity at this point so we're all going a little crazy.

People have no idea the diversity we have in S Fl. No one that lives here is from here. It sickens me. Whats worse is people that don't live here and have no idea making smirky remarks of our fan base.

I walk into our local super market on game day and see 1 Dolphins jersey out of 500 people. These transplants are taking over and bringing their lame team loyalties with them. I personally know a ton of families that have moved out, usually to the Carolina's it seems.

A fanbase that is sick of losing. A fanbase sick of ineptitude from the front office. A fanbase seeing this franchise being nothing more than a joke year in and year out. A fanbase sick of having a revolving door at QB.

Basically a fanbase sick of a ****ty football team.

Right now the fan base is apathetic in regards to the Dolphins. Barry Jackson reported in the Miami Herald this morning that the Dolphin vs Texans game was the lowest rated televised game in the NFL last weekend.
The local ratings for the game was 13.5. This was down 131,000 viewers over last years season opening game against the Patriots.

The Dolphins continue to lose fan interest, not only inside the stadium, but also from local fans who can actually sit at home and watch the games for free on TV. This lack of interest in the Dolphins has only increased as the team has continued to falter under the ownership of Ross.

There will of course always be fans who will continue to support the team, no matter what the teams record may be. This is the case with every team in every sport. The Dolphins used to be the number one team in South Florida and it wasn't even close. The Heat have now captured a lot of the local fan base and until Ross shows that he can hire the right people to turn this organization around, the fan base will just continue to dwindle in South Florida. Like it or not, South Florida is about winning teams and that is not something the Dolphins have been doing much of in recent years.

Fans who show up to the games late, leave early for halftime, return to their seats late after halftime, leave game early, sit on their ***, tell people who stand and cheer to sit down, suck and are embarrassing.

    At least they go brother.

And you and I have had this conversation before but you have an unrealistic idea of what most NFL stadiums are like. I've been to Dallas (old Texas stadium), Heinz Field, old Meadowlands, San Diego and Jacksonville for Dolphins games.

At not a single one of these stadiums did the fans stand for more than few minutes at a time, during big plays or big moments, which incidentally is when people in Sun Life stand up.

I went to the Fins-Steelers Thursday night opener post SB when we had just signed Culpepper. Heinz Field, while a great place to watch a game was not overly loud, nor did any of the fans in my section (lower level on the 15 yard line) stand for much of the game at all.

The NFL is not college, the atmosphere is far different. The kind of atmosphere that you think exists, doesn't. Except maybe in one or two places

It still baffles me that people don't understand why fans refuse to pay to see bad football. In what other part of life are people chided for not paying to see a bad product? Of course there are going to be hardcore fans that go no matter what, and God Bless 'em, but we're not the Chicago Cubs. You want a sheeple fanbase that buys tickets to see whatever crap spews from the tunnel on gamedays? Go right ahead. But to question others for not doing so is stupid.

My impression of our fanbase is that we're sick of losing. Period. 2 winning seasons in the last decade, and no playoff wins in 13 years. Pathetic. If Ross and Dee can't figure out why we can't sell out home games, that's why. Me, for instance, I go to games every year, not all, but around 3-4 a year and I haven't seen a home victory since 09' against the Pats. That's pathetic. I've seen the losses on Gator day, the Steelers robbery game... It's crap. What's our home record since 2009? 4-24 or something? Win, and the fanbase becomes an asset again in Miami.

What's really embarrassing is that people apparently slept through the 2009 season when complaining about recent attendance. Anyone else remember that MNF game against the Jets? Or the 2008 playoff game? No? Okay.
