I just watched a bunch of interviews and previews on the Jets website. I could tell from what the players were saying that they are particularly concerned about certain things vs Miami.
1) The Special Teams. According to STs Linebacker Nick Bellore, Westhoff seems to have told his players we are the best STs unit they will face this year (nice to hear). I think not having Marlon Moore this game will significantly downgrade that, unfortunately. The Special Teams player being interviewed said our STs linebackers do a great job, especially pointing out Trusnik.
2) The heat. Bellore says they are trying to prepare for it by wearing multiple layers of shirts while they practice. I don;t think that's enough, given that it's 60 degrees in NY/NJ and 85 in Miami with way higher humidity. The player also said they had been running extra after practice to get their conditioning up. This team may not wilt as badly in the second half as the Raiders did. I'm sure Tony warned them about the heat advantage being huge for us.
3) David Harris AND Nick Bellore noted concern with their defense lining up quickly enough against our no huddle. Apparently they have been trying to get their scout team to line up as fast as us so the defense can practice getting organized in time. The thing is, no scout team can do what we do. The Jets player being interviewed said the Dolphins are probably the fastest in the NFL between plays right now and that's a concern for the D. He also noted that the D could get worn down if they aren't careful and conditioned.
4) David Harris talked about needing to funnel Reggie Bush back inside so he doesn't break big plays with his speed. Expect their DE's and LBs to play outside leverage on runs, in that case. The sure don't want Revis and Cro to be the keys to the run stopping.
5) *** This jumped out at me. The Jets Defense have given up more yards after contact than ANY team in the league. The potential for big runs after broken tackles is great here.
6) They emphasized that Tannehill's ability to break the pocket and make plays with his legs.
7) The way the players are talking about Revis returning to practice, I think they fully expect him to play this Sunday.
8) The interviewer was emphasizing how the Jets offense was great the first two drives vs the Steelers, then nothing. It reminded me that Tony Sparano scripts and prepares well to open games, but does not adjust well during games. I expect their offense to get out-coached by us as the game goes on.
9) Pouha and Harris both emphasized that to stop Bush ALL ELEVEN GUYS have to close on him and expect to be involved in the tackle. They beat that over the head. What that tells me is, the defense has been heavily coached to all converge on Reggie. That means playaction in this game will be DEADLY. Tannehill will get some big plays off playaction tomorrow, and he'll owe it to Reggie Bush.

jboogie The sky is NOT falling!
I can't wait for the panic when they all know he's comming and the STILL can't stop Reggie.

they should sell out to stop the run. make our rookie qb beat you, blitz him and pressure and harass him, force quick reads and accurate throws. tannehill did well last week but he is new to the nfl and he can make mistakes that create turnovers and that cost us in houston. really look forward to seeing if tannehill can handle this defense, i think this game will show some things about rt and where he's at. i think we can win this game but we need some help from special teams and turnovers from the defense to do it. i'm excited to see how we compete.

Monday they are going to be talking about how bad the Jets are. That has to be the reason, The national media couldn't of been wrong. It can't be that the Miami Dolphins are any good it is just how bad the opponent was. /sarcasmshouright likes this. -
For us to win, Tannehill must hit the WRs and TE in play action to make them pay. -

Ideally, I'd like to see the game start with a few runs. Then we begin to work in playaction on every third play and score a couple touchdowns that way in the first half.
In the second half they have to respect the passing game and it opens up the run front for Reggie. Late third qtr and 4 qtr are mostly Bush stacking up yards as we sit on a lead.

After the first few drives, wasn't Sanchez smacked up by one of the Steelers linebacker's? From what I heard (missed a bit of the first half) that really did Sanchez in. I doubt Sparano's playcalling was the reason.
