Except of all the dirt he put out there that wasn't part of it.

Being forced to play players he didn't want to was and will always will be fan fiction.

OK… you want to draft a non-pro bowl level QB, to come in on his rookie deal and play better than Tua who just finished his second consecutive MVP caliber season, who lead the league in nearly all passing metrics in one year and led the league in passing yards while being in the top 5 for nearly everything else in the other. Is that it?

When he was first fired I was infuriated and confused.
Once the real stories came out about how he literally tried to sabotage Tua, well, **** that guy. And evidently Tua wasn’t the only one. AJ and a few others have made remarks.

I don’t think Flores was handcuffed, I think he’s not HC material… at least not yet. He would have been snatched up by another team if he was of that caliber.

Was also a down year for some of those volume those passing stats.

And I don't believe Tua was responsible for the effectiveness.

This was the lowest number of yards needed in like 15 years to lead the league in passing yards, for example.

But he led everyone in the league. They all play the same teams. You find everything you can to hate on the Dolphins.

That's just not true. Brady led the league a lot sooner than 15 years ago with less yards than Tua just put up. There may have been maybe 2 years out of the last 15 where a for sure first ballot HoF QB didn't lead the league in passing. I think Watson and Winston? And they have never come close to having another season like that. Nor have either led the league in anything else over their entire careers. Well, Winston led the league in INT's once, I think. Tua's last two seasons, by all accounts, haven't been flukes like Winston and Watson's.

The previous top passers where guys like Brees, Big Ben, Mahomes, Brady, Manning, etc.

And what does your second sentence mean? He wasn't responsible for the passing yards?

A little while back I expressed that we should take Barton at 21. Earlier a lot of draft experts had him as maybe a bottom 1st/top 2nd round pick. It looks like he's probably going sooner than that now.

It was the right decision. There was zero reason for Fitzpatrick to be playing after a couple of games. I'm sure he was made aware of that at the beginning of the season and still made a big stink about it. That team wasn't going anywhere and Fitzpatrick wasn't going to have some miracle dream run to an AFC Championship game.

I think Flo was forced to start Tua in that first season. I think he just didn’t like Tua and benched him for all the wrong reasons.

I don’t think Tua should have started any games in 2020 because he was still recovering from his hip injury and, IMO, wasn’t ready. So in that regard I agreed with Flores for not starting him. Even if Flores benched him for all the wrong reasons.

That is fine if you can tell me why he dumped every bit of dirt possible but forgot about that

Or why they asked him to tank but didn't just force him to play Rosen which would be easy to justify.

For a rookie coming off a big hip injury with an very injured Devante Parker and Mike Gesicki, I thought Tua did really well his rookie year.

The dude got 300 yards with Lynn Bowden as his top receiving threat.

And that’s a really good option this year. This class is deep in OL. However, if their guy is there at 21, (OL, Edge, whatever they’re thinking) and they think he’s going the next couple of picks, get the guy.

Don’t get me wrong, he played well. I just think it was in the back of his mind and could have lead to a confidence problem. Flo didn’t help that with his treatment of Tua either…

I'm not going to suggest a player that we should pick because there will be someone who jumps all over the post with some negative reply. So here goes...I hope we draft a player that turns out to be good for us.

I’m seeing Latu could go somewhere in our range. I think Jeremiah even had us picking him.

    I hope we run to the podium if he is available! Some legendary advanced pass rusher stats.;

Sadly, he will remain on the board however, his stock just dropped if time.

I read once from the National Highway Safety and Traffic Board that for every time an individual has been arrested for DWI, he’s actually driven drunk 10 times prior to finally being caught.

With that kind of immaturity and poor judgment, a multibillion dollar organization as in an NFL franchise is going to be hesitant to take a risk on such a person.

He’ll be lucky if he’s picked up earlier than the 5th round in my opinion.

My wish is for a T/G prospect who can start on day 1. Someone who can flip from guard to tackle if and when one of our tackles misses time. But I would also like to see us trade down as well allowing us to pick up a 3rd. Hopefully we can swing getting this type of player and trading down.

We signed Lamm to be our swing tackle and still have Keion Smith as well so I don't think we are looking specifically for a guy to fill in at T. But a dude who can start at G then move over to replace Armstead next year isn't a bad thing. However, it's going to be really dicey getting that type of player at 21 yet alone with also trading back. You're talking going from guys like Latham, Fuatanu or Fuaga to guys like Tyler Guyton or Jordan Morgan, a riskier bet at both G and T.

How was Lamm last year? I don't recall him being outmatched but overall the line really regressed after the injuries started. Think they were rated 30th in some metrics. That can't be happen again so this scenario is my ideal. Getting Fuatanu would be great at 21. If they went Edge/Guard in a straight up draft I'd be fine with that too.

Lamm isn't a worldbeater but he is adequate. The interior is what killed us. Our quick attack and fast release system helps the edges quite a bit, but the interior being a mess causes problems. We lost all 3 starting interior linemen for large chunks of the season. We brought one back (Wynn), replaced Williams with Brewer and have kind of a hodgepodge at RG right now. Rumor is we have talked with a few other guys like Laken Tomlinson and Dalton Risner who may sign depending on what we do in the draft.

Agree on Fuatanu, he's like the ideal prospect for our needs, but he is generally projected higher than 21. I think we could also do Fashanu, Latham or Fuaga as the guard to LT type as well. Mims is probably too tall and big. But again all are projected higher than 21. Barton and JPJ are the top interior guys and offer some versatility as well. Barton did play some LT in college but probably isn't suited for it at the pro level, both can play G and C. Personally, they are OK fallbacks if the top tackles and edges are gone or if we trade back.

With all the QBs and teams drafting for need, one of the players with a „real“ first round grade will be there at 21. The question is, if it’s a position of need for us, if it’s a QB I don’t see them taking one. I still think they should trade down unless someone falls to 21 they can’t pass on.

We'll have offers. Most expect us to grab an OL. Other than that, our needs are not exactly obvious. Teams hoping to scoop the Iggles, Boys or Packers might think #21 is worth a swap. I'd love to take a third to move down four or five slots.

If we can pick up a third and not drop lower than 25th, I’m good with that - of course, it depends on how the board falls.

The last time we made a smart move to trade down, we wasted the pick on Noah Igbinoghene. Such a waste of an opportunity.

Maybe we move down ... but maybe we move up? What if Latu or Verse is still on the board at like 17 or 18? What if Bowers is sitting at 15? Maybe one of the tackles is at 16? We wouldn't give up our second, but with the extra comp picks we will get next year, maybe we use some of next years ammo to make a strategic move and get an impact player.

Not directly Phins related, but the WR trade market is getting weirdly hot. Possibly all of Higgins, Aiyuk and maybe even AJ Brown could be on the move. Steelers, Bills, Pats all AFC teams that could be interested. I wonder if we will see any big player deals right before or during the show.
