I dont like the way I hear mine.
So, I'd have to go with the way others hear it.

 

I like it the way I hear it; ladies like it the way they hear it.

 

Good thread JT. This is one of those weird little quirky things that I think about...and then labor over it for hours.

I prefer the way I hear it. I have somewhat of a deep voice. Combined with the constant drinking and often my words slur together and make me sound like a mumbler.

In my head though, I have perfect pitch. Which is why I sing constantly much to the chagrin of others.

 

How can one go about "hearing" their voice the way others hear it?????

 

HATE the way I sound when I see a video or hear audio of myself talking.

 

Record it via video camera or tape deck. That is how I usually hear myself.

 

So thats how others hear you? So someone who hears you on tape would say, that is exactly how you sound to them? Interesting.

If so, I prefer the voice I hear in my head as I speak to the one I have heard on video, etc.

 

Dude I remember the first time I heard myself I was like WTF!!! whats wrong with the audio... everyone else sounds normal but I don't.. and everyone else was like no dude that's what you sound like... and I was like no not to me..

Ever since I been traumatized to hear myself.. I sound so suave and cool to myself, but when I hear my recordings I sound like a dork ***.

 

I don't know of anybody who likes the way they sound on tape, etc. Maybe famous people, but I don't know any of those.

It is weird, the first few times you hear it. I guess after time you get used to it. But it always sounds weird to me. Like 'WTF?!".

 

I was exactly the same way. we made a video for a Great Grandma one year for Christmas and I thought I was awesome (I was like 10) Then we watched it and I never spoke on camera again...ever

Definitely a weird thing (the relation of your voice's sound to yourself and others). Personally I don't even recognize my voice when I hear it played back. Plus I have a much deeper voice then I think of myself having. Strange....indeed.

 

I like the voices inside my head, but I'm not sure if I should trust them.

 

My voices tell me to root for the Bills, maybe I need an exorcism?

I feel the same way lol. I'm like, wtf I'm a dork when I hear myself recorded. Yet I'm so cool and confident and commanding as I hear it.

My wife says i have a deep booming voice but it sounds normal in my head, but after hearing my voice on tape i agree with her...she hates when i walk in a room when doesn't see me and i start talking, scares the shiznits out of her everytime,, now its a game for me..he he he.

Hey if anyone has one of those friends that never shuts up tape them and play it back to them... that should shut them up for a while.

Perhaps next time you call, instead of just breathing heavily on the other line you could just say something, then I may be able to help you out in deciding who you actually do sound like...:pity:
