Pretty self explanatory. I can't see us heading into the season with only 4 WRs on the active roster for week 1 (even if 1 ends up inactive for the game), so who do you think we try and claim or sign?

I'm throwing darts at the direction of Tim Benford (cowboys), Chris Harper (seahawks), Cobi Hamilton (Bengals), and Travarris King (Broncos).

I expect them to resign one of their cuts, whoever is left after waiver is cleaned up.

IMO, if he had anything left in the tank the Chargers would have kept him.

I don't doubt that we may add 2 to the PS, but I just can't see only 4 on the 53.

What would be the point of that? If you wanted him on your 53 man roster, why expose him to waivers? Makes less than no sense

Hard to believe the 4 WRs and 3 TEs will last into the season. Maybe they're cutting guys based on who's most likely to make it through waivers to the PS. 11 DBs seems a bit much too.

The 11 DBs is due to Davis being nicked up. I imagine as soon as he is 100% that Stanford is gone.

I'm thinking McNutt, if he isn't claimed, gets resigned.

Exactly. That's what I cant figure out. I'd like to think we'd bring either McNutt or Bumphis, or Tyms back to the PS, but why would we have kept 4WR if that was the case. If im one of the bottom of the roster DB's, I'd be worried right now. Its obvious they have to bring in another WR or two.

Could they be planning on Thigpen being used as the 5th?

That may be the plan, but I didn't notice him get a single rep as a WR in the preseason. And if he did, it was probably less than 10 total.

Maybe they consider McNutt, Tyms, Bumphis and Davis so close that they figure even if one gets claimed they'll just sign any of those who don't to the PS

But i think working out thise three wide receivers yesterday was pretty telling. I think they are looking at adding to 53 AND practice squad. Man. Were we all wrong abot our wr depth? Thats why just ball watching doesnt tell the whole story. #XOMAR. :shifty:

Wonder if they want to bring in Uzoma Nwachukwu who was cut by Houston and played with Tannehill & for Sherman at A&M.

Was watchin Harper last nite Stitch, not sure what the hell he was doing with his hands, but he didnt look to be himself, he looked lost..

I would most def bring him in..

I couldn't find anyone to agree with me on Cobi Hamilton pre draft, I thought he had some potential, and liked him more than most, and would also bring him in.

Two things to keep in mind.

    1) Cincinnati kept 10 DBs quite often when Coyle was there, and I believe the kept 11 twice.

    2) Don Jones is going to go before Stanford IMO. Stanford's the best special-teamer of all the DBs. Will Davis really hasn't shown much of anything in game situations on a consistent basis other than he's a pretty poor tackler. Stanford holds more game-day value than Davis at this point. I'd play Jamar Taylor before Davis as well just based on the last three preseason games.

Seriously, though. I'd be interested in Rogers provided he isn't a complete POS.

I'd like them to give Tori Gurley a workout. Love his size, remember him looking impressive last preseason for Green Bay!

    DT Marvin Austin [Giants/UNC]
Bills cut 5th round OT Zebrie Sanders [FSU].
I'd go after rookie WR Corey Fuller [Va Tech].
    Rookie RB Dennis Johnson [Ark].
    Rookie DT Everett Dawkins [FSU].
    TE Clay Harbor

I didn't even bother looking at the Raiders or Jets. lol

I kind of like Nwachukwu, good speed and explosion. I'd be happy with him or Da'Rick Rogers added as the #5 WR.
