Realistically, with a 9 point line facing a historically good NE offense that can demolish teams, what are you guys looking forward to this Sunday? With the spat of bad news regarding attendance and the direction of this team, I think we need to win this game. I won't be happy with moral victories as a loss will knock us out of playoff contention with SF on the road next week. I know this is a rebuilding year but we have an opportunity, at home, to make a statement that this team has a pulse.
Might be too much to ask for at this juncture in this teams' development. The bottom line is that the pasties are littered with playmakers on offense and we are not... They are on a roll and likely will do the same to us, but it is a divisional game and weird things have happened before. I don't see our O being able to keep up with their D, but to say we can't beat them is wrong also...
Only goal this sunday is for Tannehill to build from his 4th quarter and have a good game. Win or lose does not matter. Minor goals are: - Charles Clay continued improvement. - O-line deliver a second consecutive solid performance. - Daniel Thomas running well. - Defense not get embarrassed by Tom Brady.
We need Reggie to put the team on his back Sunday. Another 200 yard game, us dominating time of possession... If we can run like we did last week I think Tannehill will have plenty of opportunities to throw the ball into lighter coverage on a typically poor defense. Our defense has been strong in the redzone... Provided we hold tough in the red zone we should be able to stay in the game.
Obviously we have to fight and somehow hang around to be there in the fourth qtr. Has to be a great team effort. It's doable.
Hold New England under 45 points. Don't miss field goals. Limit bonehead mistakes. Run the ball. Limit turnovers. Someone besides Wake for the love of God please provide a pass rush.
I DOUBT that happens, BB will scheme take Bush away from your O and make Tannehill beat them. As for our terribld D it does have +23 in TO and that is something tannahill can give up in bunches it seems. Our DB's are good enough to Pick a pass off and return it for a TD. (ask Luck about that.)
First, you should proof-read your post! Secondly, of course BB will attempt to stop the run... but will they succeed? Not just Reggie, but Daniel and Lamar as well if Lamar is active, maybe even a couple sprinkles of Lane. This is where we see what type of game-planners we have in Philbin/Sherman/Coyle. If Miami can somehow limit your Patsies to 24 points or under, we will win! Dolphins 27-24
Sorry at work so not much time to proof read anything lol, This game just like against seatle will come down to your QB. If he can take advantage of the Pats Secondary you have a chance to win the game, if he can't the Phins will lose BIG. My Prediction: Pats 38 Phins:14 21 points of of TO for NE. (a pick, a strip sack and a fumble..)
Continue Tannehill's development in a positive direction... That's all that matters this year. Worrying about playoff implications will just leave you disappointed. This team isn't there yet. Hoping it will be sets yourself up for disappointment in the team. And we should be anything but disappointed in the team this season.
Hold them to under 40. Hold Brady under 400. If the Pats abandon the run and pass the ball 50 times it will get ugly for us.
Winning isn't everything. It's the ONLY thing. If you don't think you can win, you can't. -Vince Lombardi.
Don't turn the ball over! Make 50% of our 3rd downs or better! AND DON"T turn the damn ball over! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_N1OjGhIFc
In the immortal words of Herm Edwards...."You play to win the game".....Period that's it. Nice and simple.
my goal is to hopefully see this drought come to a end. second is to see Randy McMichael putanother knot on twinklle toes Jason Taylor I want see Channing Crowder make a comeback and make some more funnny qoutes , cause I miss that clown. last but not least is to see Lamar Miller lead us to victory with Tannyhill whaleing that ball to Fasano and getting us a big win 41 to 14
The ONLY goal of every game they play should be to win the game. Moral victories or playing a solid game and still losing is a game for losers. The Patriots have a lousy defense, so the Dolphins should be expected to move the ball and score over 20 points. Unfortunately the Patriots have a GREAT offense and with the Dolphins secondary, the Patriots will probably score close to 40 points.
Pats D gets a lot of crap, but since the got Talib and put McCourty at Safety they been playing a lot better! Lot more blitzes and they just look better to the eye test. Also add into the fact they are I think the top team in getting TO and in the top 3 for Defensive scores. This team may not be a shut down D like the 49ers, but they can hurt you just as much if not more so with any mistakes you make. (IE they dont usually drop INT etc)
You understand what the word practically means? You also left off completions and attempts. Henne 30/49 Brady 32/48 Tom Brady's numbers also include a 99 yard TD.
We all know the key to beating the Pats, which has been proven time and time again, is pressure on Brady. Hit him, sack him, etc. You don't pressure him, then you don't beat the Pats. So once more, to paraphrase Al Davis...Brady must go down! And, he must go down hard!
This goes hand in hand with the pressure, but I think we also have to be physical with their receivers at the LOS and disrupt their timing. If we give them free releases it will be a long day. On the other hand, a strange thing I have noticed from Brady is that he often throws terrible passes when he has a ton fo time to throw. It almost seems to throw him off. The numbers actually bear this out -- he is less efficient when he holds the ball more than 2.6 seconds than he is when he throws it in less than 2.5 seconds and his completion % goes from 74% on passes thrown in less than 2.5 seconds to 51% on passes in which he holds the ball for more than 2.6 seconds. I think you do want to mix coverages and change the number of rushers.
