Listening to sports radio today when they were announcing NBA scores, the Celtics were winners again. And I'm thinking, whats going on up there? Luck is one thing, but the Pats, the Red Sox, and now the Celtics? They're looking like the best team in the NBA. Even Boston College was No 1 for a while earlier this year. Is there some secret formula for success that's being passed around among Bostons major sports teams? Can anybody shed some light? It's getting to be too much.
Patriots: competent scouting and coaching, extremely lucky trades, referees are arguably on their side. Celtics: mortgaged the future to win now. Red Sox: spent a lot of money, faced a horrible World Series opponent. Boston College: crazy college season. A better question is why every Miami sports team collectively sucks this year. Dolphins and Heat are absolutely atrocious, the Marlins disappointed and just traded away their two best players, the Hurricanes missed out on a bowl game, and no one cares about the Panthers.
The biggest surprise to me is HOW far the Heat have fallen. Shaq is playing terrible. Makes you wonder if his divorce and age have put a belting on him. As for the Celtics, I like watching them they are exciting, but, still fairly untested.
Celtics will be fine and their future players were not showing enough progress to justify not to trade them and because of that they have 3 potential HOF on their team but if they don't get a NBA Championship during their run then I would consider the moves a mistake. Red Sox were going to win the WS no matter who they faced they were on a roll and with Beckett starting were almost guaranteed a win in the 1st game. The Red Sox also have players starting on their team from the farm system who were major contibutors to the season and playoff run.
While playing sub-par opponents they beating up on them which good teams do to the average ones, as of right now it will likely be them and Detroit in the Eastern Conference Finals but Rondo has to step big-time defensively as the season goes on and they should bring in Gary Payton.
The Celtics have played a soft cupcake schedule....the Eastern Conference is a joke, except for the Detroit Pistons. I still think the Spurs are the team to beat. The Pats winning streak won't mean crap if the Colt's repeat (Yep, they are still the defending SB champs). The Red Sox caught the Colorado Rockies on an 8 day break, or the Rocks would have won the WS.
the Player that the Celtics have are some of the Best in the NBA it doesnt suprise me one bit that they are as good as they are i didnt think if would come on so fast but i thought they would be good, the only reason the Pats are good is because Randy Moss acually is trying in New England, and the Boston red sox are always good
The Boston Celtics may have played a soft schedule but they are dominating their opponents with an average margin of victory of 10+ points, so they are beating up on the teams they should be beat. The Rocks had no shot at beating the Red Sox even without the break the Red Sox have far superior talent and much better pitching.
My extreme dislike of Noo Yawk and Noo Joiseh is quickly mutating into a very extreme dislike for Bahstahn as well. Here's hoping the 2008 or 2009 Patriots make a run at 0-16, Papelbon's dog eating the ball sets the stage for a total emotional collapse starting April, and the Celtics start sputtering when they play western conference teams.
