This is for me, because its most evident to me..

Danger Sproiles signed a four year 14 million dollar contract with a 6 mill signing bonus in 2011

Reggie Bush is not as good as Darren Sproiles.

I Make him an offer this week because I know how much I'm willing to pay, and I need to see a rookie play ball in the final quarter of the season, so I know what we have, and what we have to do.

I'd make him a three year 7.5 mill offer..if he tells me he's going to test the market, then the coaches need to know to play miller.

Figure out who of our free agents you want to keep and re-sign them.

Then? Go get a playmaker in the passing game.

My first decision would be to say goodbye to Jake Long and Reggie Bush. I'd then offer Randy Starks, Sean Smith, and Brian Hartline in that order. At least 2 of those 3 NEED to stay in Miami.

This is why I dislike Ireland so much.

Sproles was out there and could have been signed for $ 500,000 less than what we signed Bush to after we TRADED for him.

Sproles and an extra $ 500,000 or Bush, less money and less a draft pick. That is just stupid Gm'ing IMO.

This. It's not going to solve problems immediately but it is quite literally the first thing that needs to be done because you can't do all the other stuff until this issue has been resolved.

Those would be mine too. Next after that pay through the wazoo for the best WR free agent stud. Then you can either spend that 1st on a CB or another WR, and your 2nd on a OL to replace Long.

If you can (as Ross) get Ireland to agree to a new philosophy of using 2nds and 3rds to trade up for top of the 1st rd picks, and then picking guys in the 4th-7th to round things out, I'd be okay with keeping Jeff.

His misses are mainly in rounds 2 and 3, and bottom of round one. Why waste the picks.

If you can protect him from himself, and force him to use thos....

Know what, **** it. A GM should be able to self manage that stuff. Go get us a new GM who meshes well with Philbin.

I like Philbin and don;t want to start over again with a new HC and new systems.

Add a stud pass rusher to compliment Wake, and our secondary suddenly looks MUCH better. We still need to draft a CB, as you can never have enough depth, but ONE stud DE should be easier to get than replacing FOUR guys in the secondary with better players.

Of course, an offense that was averaging another 7-10 points per game would do a lot for our defense too.

    drive Ireland to the airport.

re-sign Sean Smith, Starks, Clemons. let Bush walk.

blow up the receiving corps. keep Bess and Rishard Mathews, let everyone else go, including Hartline and Fasano. sign Mike Wallace and a Kevin Ogletree or Domenik Hixon. then draft a WR within the first 3 rounds of the draft.

then all we need is another corner, pass rusher, guard, TE, OT, RB, and Safety....

jesus christ this team has so many holes lol.

That's far from being a given. So far Philbin has done a great job with what he was to work with. I think there's a strong chance he could survive a GM change.

Philbin's best chance of survival is for any new GM to come from the Packers personnel department.

new GM doesn't have to mean new head coach...not right away at least. the new guy will want the power to make a change whenever he sees fit though.

LOL. Ireland has us set up for a big splash in 2013 [despite 3 years of Parcells & his outdated philosophy stalling this team], and in the meantime we were 3 plays away from being 8-3 prior to this game despite offensive & defensive schemes and a rookie starting at QB..... and then were good enough to compete with NE and potentially beat them had it not been for a few botched plays that have nothing to do with the GM (like a muffed punt, roughing the kicker, and missed long ball TD).

Last year's draft is looker better and better as the season wears on, and that's w/o Egnew beginning his contribution, yet for some reason you think Ireland is a liability.

Literally decimate the Dolphins fanbase. I'm talking the old Roman practice where the fans would be divided into groups of 10 and one person in that group is selected by random lots and then clubbed to death by the other 9.

I wouldn't worry about Bush. There's both Miller and Gray on the roster and I think that they should be more likely to stick around.

I'd kind of be a little more uncomfortable giving our abundance of picks and cap money to someone new with the team, at this point for next season.

Actually... if Ireland is going, you SHOULD fire him now so the new GM and the scouts can start preparing for their draft evals and free agency stuff, and Pro Personnel (who to resign).

If you change in February the new guy is hamstrung, to some degree. This draft has too many high picks to blow them by not being prepared and all on the same page.

And yet a lot of fans prefer that to letting Ireland do it. Sort of says a lot.

I'd fire Ireland...then I'd hire Disgustipate, as GM, have him club a few fans to death, have him arrested for murder... and fire him immediately.

Then hire a new GM with the direction to COMPLETE the roster for a playoff run.

It depends. If you fire him now - That is quite a bit of time to get accustomed to the needs of the team

I think its a bad idea to wait until the offseason to do it

New GM almost always means new head coach, or at minimum a dramatically shortened grace period for the inherited coach.

Yes, but you also need to have the new man in line already.

But yes, because I want the new man in line for free agency which starts soon after the Super Bowl.
