With the draft in the rear view mirror and the schedule release coming in two weeks, I figured this was a good time for a discussion about what you think a best case scenario for next season would look like. As we know, the league will likely do everything in their power to screw the Fins over, so this is a good time for fantasy and positivity before then.
Here's my take: JETS @ Cleveland LA CHARGERS @ Pittsburgh @Buffalo WASHINGTON @ Carolina VS Tampa Bay in Madrid BYE NEW ORLEANS @ New England @ Jets BUFFALO @ Carolina @ Indianapolis NEW ENGLAND @ Atlanta BALTIMORE My thought being that a Week 1 game vs a hated division rival who has a new head coach and QB is a great way to get off to a good start. Make them sweat in the 1pm heat. Get the away games at Buffalo, Cleveland and Pittsburgh out of the way early, so the elements aren't a factor, and the Chargers never travel well to Miami, so its an advantage there. I'm a believer that all of the international games should be AFC/NFC, and this means that TB fans can't try to take over JRS with the game in Spain. Then come home to one of the weaker teams in the league after the bye, followed by getting the trips to NJ and NE out of the way before its too cold, and have the dome trips late in the year. And if we're still alive for the playoffs come Week 18, then we face the Ravens for positioning then when it matters the most.
I'd be good with that schedule, especially with the later bye-week. Which means the real schedule will be more like; @Pittsburgh, @Buffalo, and @Baltimore for weeks 16-18.
Obviously, we play @ BUF, NE and JETS every season. All three teams, being in the Eastern Time Zone have standard 1pm Sunday home games as the default, unless its Prime Time or something special. But we haven't played an away game during the first half of the season against two of them at 1pm since 2004! And 2004 was also the only time since the 2002 realignment that we played away games at all three of them by Week 8.
I'm still in the Philippines, so my only answer would be "Dolphins vs Jets in the Philippines, as part of the NFL's new international tour". If someone could relay that to Goodell, I'd genuinely appreciate it.
I'm being a little selfish with my layout, putting the Steelers game around my birthday, in hopes that I could coordinate a visit to see my family with seeing the game in person up there.
for selfish reasons as well I turn 50 the sunday before thanksgiving so i want Madrid or a home game (vs LA) that week in November. I also take a 2 week vacation after Christmas so i wouldnt mind hitting a home game, @ NE or @ NY again. I want to visit BUF/NE stadium as the visitor. The other road games/cities are not on a bucket list to visit.
So i checked out some guy's posts on X since Ben Allbright reposted a tweet regarding Denver's future schedule and this guy claims Miami will be in Madrid Week 11 (11/16) opponent TBD. I take it Miami's bye will be week 12? Also read the NFL will release certain games(international?) on different networks prior to May 14th. (12/13?)
I believe all of that. However sometimes in the past, the Dolphins have speficially chosen not to have their bye after the international trip, which I feel is a mistake.
