If you like football history I found some great docs on Youtube of the 50s and 60s football. If Tom Brady played in this era he wouldve lasted 4 games before being carted off to a six month stay in a hospital

To each their own. That was way before my time, but I can understand that if you grew up in that ear, you would have an attachment to it. My own preference would be the late 90s through about ten years ago, for the style of football played on the field.

this is before my time. i just love the history of football. It changes every decade for better or worse. The 50s version is arguably the most violent. Hell of a lot better than the pansy version we have today

The violence and brutality of the old game holds absolutely no appeal to me. I want today's coaches to have more time with players, and to be able to practice more in order to improve blocking and safe tackling. I want the game to be efficient and clean, not the crazy sloppy mess that we now sometimes see. But I don't like the crushing hits of the past, or having one team just physically bully the other around the field.

I like strong armed, accurate, smart quarterbacks, receivers who run clean routes and have great hands, running backs who are fast and elusive, and defenders who are smart, stay in their responsibility, cover well instead of trying for the big play, and tackle well instead of trying to knock the ball out or hurt the other guy.

Yup. Could you imagine if today’s players had to have a second job at a car lot and went off to war in the spring-summer?

no one is forcing you to watch the videos. if you dont like old school football dont watch it. but by your comments you should since it sounds like you dont know that much about that era. you list all these things you like about modern football and the 50s had all of those. Strong armed, accurate quarterbacks, receivers who run great routes and have great hands, running backs who are fast and elusive......the 50s had all of that plus a heightened degree of violence. They had Johnny Unitas and Otto Graham is arguably the GOAT at the QB position. Ollie Matson, Hugh Mchelleny and Lenny Moore were some the greatest and most exciting running backs to ever play. Bob Boyd, Crazy Legs Hirsch, Tom Fears and Raymond Berry were phenomenal receivers of that time. If you dont like the brutality of that era thats fine but dont think they werent as skilled as today's players. They were and much tougher

i like the response of one of the players who found out the other team had a $500 bounty on his head. He went to his friend on that team and said to block him and he would fake an injury and come back later and they would split the 500, 250 each. You had to hustle back then. Now they cry to the front office

Ollie Matson was ridiculous and would still be ridiculous by today’s standards.
