in the last decade we have drafted Jake Long so I will be fair and give that pick a " B+"
the rest of that draft was non memorable as the media goes.
the Ted Ginn pic I give a "F " i wont go into the other picks because i dont have thatsheet with players infrot of me.
so my question when was the last time that Miami drafted a stud skill player on both sidesof the ball or even two 4 star players and 2 3 star players ?
was the chris Chambers draft or the draft that had Ronnie Brown in it classified as real good drafts ?
it seems to me that we for once in our lives ought to trade up for blackmon and draft Oswald Oswell however you spell it. and draft James Hanna too then this draft would be rememorable in stead of being forgettable.:pity::yes:

Yatil Green (He was a bust, yes, but I can't fault the pick at the time, they needed a stud WR)
Sam Madison

A.J Duhe ,Bob Baumhower were two all pros who were selected 1 and 2 in 1977, Don Mc Neal,Dwight Stephenson,Joe Rose ,David Woodley in 1980 Dan Marino,Regiie Roby,Mark Clayton 1983 Are the ones that stand out to me .However we have never had a draft that has been outstanding where over 50 pct of those drafted made it.

It's been way too long. For some reason I feel good about the direction the team is headed. I can't explain it. I like Ireland and Philbin. I think they will field a good team. I never liked Parcells anywhere he has gone. Didn't care for any of the coaches since The Don. But I really like Philbin. I hope I'm right. :wink2:

That depends...what year was Marino drafted again?

i like the trade we all ovver looked the Patrick Surtain trade and then aquiring Brock Marion my favorite defensive player next to Zach .
but who did we draft that year we took Surtain ? -
I think the 2008 draft was the last good solid one we had. Everyone can say Jake Long was a no brainer.......but it clearly wasn't around here. A LOT of people wanted Chris Long, a small subset wanted Gholston and a small subset wanted Ryan.
Sure we didn't keep Kendall Langford but that would have been throwing huge money at a strong position here. Doesn't diminish the pick though.
Chad Henne wasn't it at starter but he's probably going to have a long career as a primary backup and still get starts in a pinch so not a 100% bust, but obviously didn't succeed either.
What makes this draft good/solid though was finding Dan Carpenter and Davone Bess in undrafted.
They also plucked Nate Garner (7th rounder) off the Jets before the season began. -
The 90s. We haven't won a playoff game since 2000, the longest sports team drought in all of Florida if the Panthers win tonight. 3 straight losing seasons for the first time since the 60s. No franchise QB. All that means we've failed every year since at least the mid-90s. I'd agree with 1997.

1970. Traded #1 for Paul Warfield. Then...Jim Mandich, Tim Foley, Curtis Johnson, Jake Scott and Mike Kolen. 3/4 of the No Name defensive backfield and a great LB. Hubert Ginn (no relation) also came in that draft... Amazing draft.
