Ok, so we're going to have the sickest running game in the NFL. Wheres our passing attack? Last thing I remembered, the best teams are the teams that can convert on 3rd down (usually passing). Heck, lets just pass all game like the patriots. I say we find us some gigantic WR's and fill in in the gaps on our crappy O line who likes to take vacations when beck is under center.

Where are we at as a team...? I would say Running to control (dictate) the game..., 3rd and 3 is easier to make (throwing or running) than 3rd and 8... It just makes sense...

Gholston is most definitely worthy of the #1 pick, and he'll likely show it on national television when OSU plays LSU. He made Jake Long job two years in a row, and has been a major part of the OSU defense.

He should play the same position as he does now. He'll be an elite edge rusher. He could also play hybrid DE/OLB, but I'm not sure he'd do that immediately. KB21 is better-equipped than I to answer that.

For what it's worth, I prefer Glenn Dorsey simply because our run defense is so bad, and Dorsey has an amazing ability to rush the passer from up the center.

I've been rethinking that, we can do that sort of setup with say Ronnie and LBook, we have seen LBook's pass receiving ability, and he is much more flexible then McF is, we can line up LBook almost anywhere and leave Ronnie in the backfield without the "price" of McF.

Now what if we found a Olineman who can fill in at LT or RT high in the draft?

That would give us three pieces to our offensive puzzle and it would also allow us to take a DE who can pass rush.

Historically, DE at #1 are as close as you can come to a "sure thing" even surer then a QB or a RB and far more certain then a DT.

We will need Guards as well, but if a ball control keep Beck's uni dry is the plan, we need bodies on the Oline to make it happen.

i dont know if anyone follows the NFL here, but the league is becoming a passing league. there is no arguing that.

i cant believe someone would actually say we should draft a RB at #1, when our best player is already a running back

look at the top-5 DTs in the NFL, how many were drafted in the first round? teams don't let DTs go away, you have to draft one.

Yah Ronnie and McFadden can share 9 carries before Miami's down 14-0.

Miami = last in the NFL@rushing. To put it in perspective. Miami has given up a 2000 yard rusher with 3 games to go.

McFadden = Popular choice for people who like "names". Same people who would have picked Bush over Williams. No dominant D players? Must have missed Dorsey/Long.

It's tough. I was certainly on the draft McFadden bandwagon, and I still believe he would our offense explosive and improve the play of other guys immediately. As great as Ronnie was this year, he's not explosive--which doesn't mean I think he isn't good or want him off the team, as we saw HE IS our offense. I just think another guy like McFadden can get us that homerun. We've lacked big plays for such a long time now, I think McFadden can bring that. I think it opens things up for Ronnie and Ginn and other guys too. Our offense can't be great unless we get good QB play.

However, when you see a guy like Mario Williams dominating as a pass rusher and a run stifler, it's tough to not take a guy like that. Even look at Haloti Ngata, he was awesome last year and he's just as good this year. You're telling me a guy like that isn't worth a #1pick? I dunno. If Dorsey does that stuff, he just might be. It's so hard. There is going to be a lot of debate on this that is for sure.

I think the game is won and lost by you dictate on the the line of scrimmage our O-line looks like it could stand out with a greatr Mauler or two and a featured workhorse...

3rd and 3 or 4 is easier to complete than 3rd and 8 or 9..., we have a deep threat... to stretch the field...

If we go D line first (excellent) then in my opinion we have to build that Running game... next two picks..., most people want to ffix every area of weakness without bolstering a strength...

A strength helps your team dictate the game...

L. Book - at flanker and verstaile and so is Ginn... (We have to move on from Quinn, Willis, Okoye) those arguments are old...

After the team was down 42-7, or 31-13, or 27-10?

Perhaps I could agree if the offense actually was going toe-to-toe with the other team - but it sure seems like the offense only came alive after the games were out of hand.

I've noticed you've posted a couple of times with the fact that we scored 29 against the Pats. Not true, it's 28.

As for the Jets game, the offense put up 15 points after the score was 31-13 in the 4th quarter. What 3rd quarter momentum did the offense give the defense, except for zero points?

Like I said and you edited out - the offense only came alive after the games were out of hand.
