JT or Everette Brown? I would definitely rather have Everette Brown! This guy is a game changer! I don't even see this as our biggest need but i would be very happy if he was there at #25 http://www.miamidolphins.com/newsite/aquavision/aquavision.asp?category=1&mediaid=41916
We can have both just one of the can not wear 99 No but really Everette Brown would be great. He is a game changer and he is younger then Jason Taylor.
I'm sure you'll change your mind when he's playing for New England. There's no doubt in my mind that he will go there b/c they will offer him more than we will.
JT is a Hall of Famer, and absolutely owned face as a Miami Dolphin. I hope we retire #99. he earned it.
99 is JTs number and i may be in the minority but i want him back for one more season and to retire as a phin. So therefore maybe his number will be retired someday also.
Everette Brown would be nice but there is no chance that he falls to 25. He is a top 15 talent and will move up even more so with the steroid case lingering over Cushing and Matthews...
Top fifteen talent? He's likely to be a top fifteen pick but I would say he's overrated and not as good as he will go. There's two reasons he's going to high in my opinion and they are potential and premium placed on pass rushers. Potential is a word that's thrown around so damn much nowadays that you'd think its meaningless, lol.
i saw a mock draft where a blogger from each team made their teams pick, and the blogger for a dolphins site picked everette brown. you never know what's gonna happen. The browns never thought they would get Joe Thomas and Brady Quinn.
there's a reason why Everette Brown will go quickly in the 1st round and JT was what a 3rd rounder or 5th? i get him and Zach mixed up when it comes to the rounds they were drafted in. Man, i hope we can get the same value that we got out of ZT and JT this year!
folks, lets face it. A motivated Jason Taylor can do wonders for our team. He knows he played poorly last year. He knows hes going to have to do alot of work in the offseason. Hes knows that they expect. He got burnt by the team last year because he thought he could have it his way. Well its 2009 and JT should have learned his lesson this team does not tolerate a me-first attitude. JT is a year older and wiser. Hes been a pro athelte for a long time and hes stayed out of trouble and wasnt a cancer until Cam Cameron killed the psyche of this team. He played good soldier when Wanny killed it the first time, was fed up by the time Nick Saban left and Cam showed up. I dont blame him, but at the same time he shouldve known Parcells' mentality. Now he knows, and I think he would commit to doing what they Dolphins ask. Plus, no player wants to go out after having a season like JT had last year. He knows he can perform better and he knows he can light it up still playing in a system that knows how to utilize him. I think Parcells would like to have Taylor be his new LT even if its just for a season. We dont have much for pass rush, and even after the draft, we only have Porter as a proven commodity. Everyone else, including Crowder, Anderson, Roth, and yes, a rookie, will have question marks. Having JT for a year or two at least gives us an insurance and time to develop our guys while we can still field a winning team. It makes sense. Leave the drama out of it, and it will most likely work in our favor one way or the other.
there is no guarantee he will develop into anything, theres plenty of DEs who were taken in the first round and turned out to be nothing. I dont think draft placement matters in the grand scheme of things.
with that being said, are you one of the people that prefers a WR in the draft (like Nicks) over having Boldin?
i didn't know who this was so i did a you tube search and came up with this: LOL!!!!!!! [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VkkZ1DqSojg"]YouTube - Classic Gym Commercial[/ame]
lets put it this way. Our Wrs are adequate. We need a good WR. Im open to all options. But we all know Boldin is going to be too expensive. Im more inclined to drafting Nicks just because we have too many needs to give up a bunch of draft picks.
then it sounds like you're contradicting yourself! on one hand, you prefer JT over Everette Brown b/c you know what JT's capable of and you claim ..... But when it comes to Boldin or Nicks you want Nicks! This is what i say about Nicks....... there is no guarantee he will develop into anything, theres plenty of WRs who were taken in the first round and turned out to be nothing. I dont think draft placement matters in the grand scheme of things
I dont see a contradiction here. If it costs a first round pick id rather take my chances with a young prospect like Nicks. Id we could deal a 2nd and a player for Boldin, Id do that and take a DE/LB with the first pick since by having Boldin we filled WR. A first round pick too much for a guy whos over 25 and has an injury history.
and if I was JT I would go with New England also, because they are showing me more interest and appreciation for my ability.
he's the one pursuing us! he didn't do crap last year. i would pay full price for an apple until it got rotten.
Everette Brown......he's younger. JT, who I still love, has a year or two no more. I would hate to take up rooster space, and $$$$$ for someone who is just temporary.
Neither...JT is going to New England and Everette Brown is a top 15 pick and he will be gone by our pick.
I do agree with you on this, but if the man wants to play with us but we don't want him, I guess he can play for another team and at this point I can't be mad with him.
I'm sorry, I mispoke. By top 15 talent, I meant that he will be picked in the top 15. I agree that his stock (as well as all other OLBs in this draft) are inflated due to the premium of an effective pass rusher. He has shown enough to get GMs excited and hasn't done anything damaging lately to hurt his stock. He won't make it to 25, that I am sure.
