I'll go on record and say that the two biggest surprises this year will be

    1) Jamarcus Russell - I think now that he's in his 3rd year we're going to start to see some of the reasons he was drafted so high. The game should be slowing down for him. He reminded me of a young McNair in college and I think this is his year to shine. I'm not predicting Pro Bowl or anything like that but I am predicting a good year swhere he finally arrives as a solid QB

    2) Derek Hagan - I know, lol. But the guy has been tearing it up in training camp and it seems the drops have finally been cured. The SOB finally had the light turn on. Friggin punk

what individual players will surprise this year. no dolphins predictions. they have to be on one of the other 31 teams

    1. Shaun Hill- Continues his strong play from last year and helps lead San Fran to a wild card spot.

    2. Pierre Thomas- Finally gives the Saints an all around RB threat to go along with that deadly passing game.

Con and PT, with alot of respect guys, if San Fran makes the playoffs it won't be because of their QB play. Dear lord those guys are BAD!! I think they have a better chance letting Mr. Huard lead that team JMO. (I can't believe I'm saying that cause he's as old as the hills but he was suited up Sat. night) Grey hair and all!!:shifty: They need to go get Chris Simms!!

    1) SF and Oakland win their divisions.

    2) Colt Brennan will have started in Washington by the end of the year (and that is not to say the Mor plays badly either, just bad play and/or injuries will play a factor).

Thanks. Wasn't trying to be smart, just wasn't sure. I remember him dropping some crazy easy passes. I'm pulling for the guy.

    I'll go with;

    1. Limas Swede - Has to step up for an aging Ward and departure of Washington.

    2. Glen Dorse - Going to adapt to 3-4 end and prove why he was drafted so early. May not have the flashy stats, but will be stout and solid.

They, and the Jaguars take turns sucking every other year. The Ravens do too the past 5 years also. Perhaps there is something to flying under the radar, and difficulty of schedule. Those 3 teams seem to just not be good enough to persevere on a yearly basis.

Man I hope we're not like them.

1.Neither the Giants, nor the Steelers win their division.

2.This will be Coach Lewis' last year in Cincy.

also. Trent Edwards has a solid year in Buf, if he remains healthy, despite his line.

I don't know that Wake would be considered a rookie at this point. Plus I'm pretty sure Sean Smith is going to have it wrapped up anyways.

    1. The Packers will lead the league in sacks. I think the stuff that Dom Capers is doing there is great. He's got them playing a reduced 3-4 front with the ends playing a inside shaded 4 technique and then once they eat up blockers, he has his linebackers shoot the gaps and disrupt the pocket untouched. They've already got a damn good secondary, though they do have to fix some holes in their zone defense but those holes are always open; the middle of the field and the sideline can be worked by the opposition. Overall, I like what Capers is doing there. They had a blitz against Arizona where they had two down lineman, four linebackers and five defensive backs. On that play, they had their two massive defensive tackles take on the A gaps on each side and then they had their two linebackers stunt and then follow it up with a blitz by Charles Woodson up the middle. Kind of like what Nathan Jones does for us. One linebacker picks up the offensive blocker and then Woodson comes in free for the sack. So impressive. Another zone blitz that caught my eye. They have their two nose tackles with their hands in the dirt and only them. One is playing the 1 technique and the other is playing the 4i. Then they have a solo linebacker in AJ Hawk standing in the middle. Aaron Kampman and Brandon Chillar I believe are in a two point stance on the strong side on that play. The cornerback on the weak side is Charles Woodson. What they do is have their nose tackles attack along the LOS (diaganolly) to tie up the LG and LT. Then they have AJ Hawk blitz right up the middle to tie up the OC, whilst the OLB and ILB drop in zone coverage. Charles Woodson, who is on the weak side, then blitzes from the outside and has a clear path, untouched, to the quarterback to force the sack and strip. Kampman picks up the fumble and runs into the end zone.

    2. I'm still working on this one lol. I'll get back to it.
