week 1 or week 11? if its week 1 i'll go McCown

Im going to say that Beck has done alot to improve himself during the offseason, and he will win this job. Of course that could just be wishful thinking, but I hope its him. Id like to see one of our drafted, "homegrown" QB's have success here, not somebody else's leftovers...

John Beck
Josh McCown

In an ideal world, I'd like to see McCown push Beck, and Beck respond by stepping up in preseason and winning the job. I'm just not sure that's exactly how it will play out. I do expect Beck to finish the season as the starter, but in reality I envision Josh starting the season based winning the job in training camp. I do expect us to draft a QB on Saturday, but I can't see that person (whoever he ends up being), winning the job over either McCown or Beck. Parcells has a history of relying on veteran players, particularly at the QB position, so this also bodes well for McCown's chances.

I believe this year will be the 1st year in a long time of real competition for the position, and Beck will be the obvious choice by the start of the season.alen1 likes this. -

I'd like to say Beck, but I really couldn't tell you.

mccown will start against the jets :D

In all honesty I think the coaches will pick Mckown to open up the season but I think Beck starts by week 3.

After working hard during the offseason, I think John Beck he is ready.
