Been giving this alot of thought recently. Obviously, first and foremost I'd like to see Campbell get the job because that would mean we finished this season strong. I'm not giving up hope for the season, but the realist in me says that we have far too many holes to push for a playoff spot. IMO it's going to take Campbell leading this team to a 7-5 record to have a realistic chance at the job and even still I don't think that'll be good enough. You know Mr. Ross wants a splash signing instead of doing what's actually right for the franchise.
I'm personally on the Hugh Jackson band wagon. He did an admirable job in Oakland leading that dumpster fire to an 8-8 record and having them in legitimate playoff contention. I always felt like he got a raw deal over there, he's a good coach.
People know I'm not the biggest Tannehill supporter, if he resembled the flashes of brilliance more consistently I'd be all in on the guy. Here's to hoping he can do that.
I think Jackson is just the guy to get Tannehill playing like he's capable of playing on a more consistent basis. Look at the wonders he's working over in Cincinatti with Andy Dalton. I'm a believer that Ryan Tannehill CAN be better than Dalton given the right circumstances, it remains to be seen if he passes him up. Jackson understands QB play and how to accentuate his teams strengths. Sign Jackson and watch this offense reach new heights and legitimately compete for the playoffs year in and year out. I'm that much a believer in him.... If you could play Ross and make the decision on our next coach who would it be and why?

I'm always a bit dubious about coaches that have been coaching for a long time becoming HCs, that rarely works, because leadership is the biggest attribute for a HC and that usually is evident early on and those guys rise quickly, so many good coordinators have been bad HCs, and most good HCs quickly moved up the ranks, he's been coaching 25 years now.
Not saying he wouldn't be a good HC, but his slow march up the coaching tree is worrisome imo.
If Cambo can lead this team to a 7-9 record at this point, I would bring him back.Dolphinzdawgg and dolphin25 like this. -

Im fully behind Campbell, but if it wasnt him, Id be fine with Hugh Jackson. CK describes him as the offensive version of Rex Ryan. Im also ok with Sean Payton.

Excluding completely unrealistic options, my choice is Sean Peyton, who then brings with him a high quality DC.

I want someone with a firm grasp on how to get the most out of Tannehill and this offense. Someone who truly understands how vital the ground game and a solid OL is to his success. Hue Jackson, Sean Payton, Mike Shanahan or Kyle Shanahan. Sign me up for any one of them, in that order.
Hypothetically, if Campbell is retained, do you think he stands pat with Lazor and Anamuro (however you spell his name) as the coordinators? I want Lazor gone, I feel like he's clueless and part of the problem. -

Sean Payton would be interesting if only to see if we could keep going with this 'feature the QB' game planning that Lazer has started. Personally, I don't think Tannehill is quite up to that but it'd be interesting enough to consider.
I want a more physical team though, one that is less reliant on the QB. I see Tannehill as being Flacco-esque in his casual nature. Maybe a guy like Vic Fangio could help instill some toughness in the defense and promote more of a running game so the heat would be on our defensive playmakers. In that scenario Tannehill would be icing on the cake.Chuck Wilson likes this. -
That's what you gotta aspire for I think.... Bring some maulers in on that OL and run it down people's throats. Naturally, Tannehill will perform better under the circumstances. The numbers don't lie.

Mark Richt has been to 14 bowls in 15 seasons, 141-50 WL in the sec... He might be let go... He is a very good coach.. Georgia would be a fool to let him go but he probably has worn out his welcome... When u think Georgia you think RB's and defense... I think this guy would be a nice fit in the nfl now that it's shifting towards a run happy league...

Counting this year, his teams have never finished worse than 12th in points scored, and in the top 6 six times. Their worst finish with yards is 6th, and have led the league four times. They've finished near the bottom of the league in half of his years in points allowed, and that's why they haven't won more games. -

Unless we go worse than .500 from here on out, Dan Campbell.

Hue Jackson, and in my dream scenario, with Jim Schwartz as defensive coordinator.

I may give Hue a slight edge over Malzahn though, simply because of the shaky history of college coaches coming over. Hue and Jim Schwartz though.... nice.
I'd also have Payton in very close contention with those guys as well if he was interested. I think it'd be important though to have a strong offensive staff in place though if we went with him. -
