Why are the Phins still behind JAX?

    Multiple teams tied that are not in the same division. That throws out the head-to-head tie-breaker.

    yeah, what he said. its a four way tie. head to head doesnt matter if there are more than 2 teams involved, unless one team has beaten each of the others. don't worry, jax will not win out. and if they do, then that means new england doenst.

    there could be anywhere from 2 to 4 teams going for the wildcard spot(s) ...

    E - MIA, NE, NYJ (apply DIV tie beakers to get 1 - for each WC spot)

    C - BAL

    S - JAX

    W - DEN

    head to head matters if only 2 DIVs are involved, 3 + not so much. It becomes AFC record and common games. That's why its DEN, JAX, BAL, MIA right now ... it will change over the course of the next 3 weeks .... JAX is the obvious likely loser with IND & NE on tap.

    so, NE stands in our way for the DIV and BAL stands in our way for a WC ...
