Maybe I had my head in the sand because I didn't want to see it until it happened, but I was not aware of how close they were to signing JT.
Boooooooo!

Yeah, but JT isn't under contract next year. If Miami chooses to let him go, he still needs to keep his options open.
-
let him go
he can't stop the run or rush the passer anymore -
If the team was worried about his ability to play the run weakside, they wouldn't have released Matt Roth.
Regarding pass rush, he's the second on the team with 6 sacks. (The guy who finished 2nd last year was Roth, with 5.5 for the entire season). It's not like we have an anemic pass rush either, as a team we're second in the NFL with 35. He's on pace for just under 9 sacks, and I could see him hitting 10 or more with a few more good games before the end of the season.
JT has been a clear upgrade from Roth at the OLB position.Phins28, Bpk, ToddsPhins and 6 others like this. -

It would hurt to see him in that uniform, but I can't fault a guy if he wants to keep playing and they give him a chance to win it all. I would actually root for him I think. He has meant THAT much to Miami.
-
No, we are that bad in coverage....so bad, that we essentially run man coverage exclusively.
-
Yeah I think he was just trying to be kind. It's probably safe to say NE offered him substantially more than he signed for with us.
He flat out said he didn't want to negotiate; he would sign for whatever Miami thought was fair.
I tend to doubt NE was as close to signing JT as their media would have their readers believe.dolphindebby likes this. -
If there is going to be drama like this with JT I would prefer he just left. I don't want a Brett Favre soap opera distracting the team this offseason. Being an uncapped season and no state income tax in Florida will look VERY appealing to the major FAs next year. -
There wont be Favre drama. He wont retire then unretire. Either they give him a new contract and he stays, or they dont give him one and he goes to play for another team, probably the Pats.
-
lets be honest ... the 2 reasons JT came back to MIA are:
1- MIA won the DIV last year ... so the prospect of improvement under Parcells was reasonable
2- his family is here, and my most accounts - it wasn't a positive thing when he went to WAS ...
i don't believe it was about the $$$$$, it was a combo of playing for a potential playoff team and staying home .... plain and simple. even though most will try to sell it as him being a loyal, bleeding PHIN at heart ... sorry .... its about winning, family and $$$$$Samphin likes this. -
As far as I'm concerned, he's played a passable game this year. Unless he wants a huge contract, which I doubt he will, and unless he decides its time to retire, bring him back for another year. He hasn't been huge, but it saves us from having to hunt down an FA who will want big bucks, or burn draft picks in a trade. It will allow us to go LB heavy in the draft.
Keep JT around, I mean seriously, who better to build up a rookie LB than Jason Freaking Taylor?
I'm pretty sure we don't have to worry about seeing him in a Pats Jerseydolphindebby likes this. -
I think if we win most of our remaining games that JT staying in miami for next season is a big possibility.
-
Not sure what Jason Taylor wants anymore. The fact that he's back wearing a dolphins uniform is still a little weird to me. I wouldnt be surprised if he left us though.
Though he's dropped off pretty quickly this year. Out of no where Porter took back the sack lead for the team. Now, Porter had two awesome games (5 sacks, crazy) but Taylor should be around 8-9 right now and he isn't. -
do you guys honestly believe jt didn't know it would be a tough road ahead in terms of wins and such? of course he did. I doubt us winning or losing is having an effect and is unexpected.

JT is a backstabbing whore!!! And by backstabbing whore, I mean the guy who has helped Miami lead the AFC is sacks once again.

No NO NO. I don't want him to leave. Who will I drool over? Who will make my Sundays even better?
To be serious. I can't see JT leaving us for ne. The coach loves him, evidently so does bp.
IMO, he came back because he loves this team. He had many choices and a chance to make more money, but he's here, where he should be.
I still think all that crap from "08 is something we'll never truly know about. If he was as bad as some said, he wouldn't have been asked back for any reason.
I want him here for as long as he produces on the field.
Come on guys, he's my man candy on game days, help me pray he stays. :wink2: -
draft OLBs and ILBs. Our problems are solved if you do a good job
-
Do you find me sexy?
-
Which one adam? You or #85?
It's true I think JT is gorgeous. But, I started liking him & Zach when they joined the team because they were great players IMO and brought a lot to the team.:up:adamprez2003 likes this. -

-
oops, sorry.
No, I don't think he's sexy, but I love his playing. -
Some women are stoopid adam. Just liking anyone for their looks is usually a lose, lose situation.
But, I bet you're a cutie:wink2:
