    CHRIS Long.

IMO, the whole Jake Long/Vernon Gholston stuff is sort of a ploy to drum up a trade..

The reason they havent approached Chris Long about a contract is because Parcells KNOWS that Long will not be a camp holdout if he is offered a contract after the draft.. I think he knows a lot about the guy through Groh, and also knows that his upbringing (and the fact that Chris is already affluent ) means that he isnt going to be looking for a bonkers contract.

I think they are using Jake Long as the tradebait.. Trying to see if they can get the Rams and/or KC to jump...

I also believe Ireland's "slip-up" was intentional, designed to make Atlanta sweat a little in regards to Glenn Dorsey..

Originally, Gholston fit into my conspiracy theory somehow, but I sortve forget how.. lol.

I agree Dolfan. I think the Gholston talk is more of the same. Sounds to me like so far we are drafting anyone but Dorsey or Chris long. So I think we'll be drafting Dorsey or Chris Long.

From what I understand, Dorsey is not a good fit for the 34. He can't be used up to his full abilities so I guess Long is our answer, Chris Long that is.

    BTW, awesome font color bro.

The irony would be rich if a year after booing a draft pick that bypassed a QB we follow with a year where we boo the drafting of a QB

No, I'll still support whoever the Phins select, but I'll be extremely disappointed if it's Jake or Ryan.

I wont be upset with Gholston or Jake so long as we follow with Flacco in the 2nd. If we draft Henne I will be upset or If the Jets draft Ryan I will be upset

Hey what's with adopting a draft prospect? What if he ends up on the Patriots? Traitor  There are plenty of Dolphins still available for adoption. You should wait until the draft when some new Dolphins will be brought into the fold

I'll be dancing for joy. Not only would they be picking Ryan (you know my feelings on him), but they would also be passing on Gholston, McFadden, etc. QB is the least of their worries, I would love love love for them to draft Matt Ryan.

    Call it a hunch :wink2:

Besides, your track record when it comes to adopting Phins isn't all that great.

    Donnie Jones.....gone.

Mauia........gets into a fight and might be gone.

Maybe you should pick Tom Brady for your next fanclub   :wink2:

Ehh...Woody is a weak link and a bad signing and D-Brick had Jets fans screaming last year. Their OL isn't what it appears to be IMO. Nothing to worry about.

I agree with you. Faneca could be on the downside of his career but if he isn't, he will be productive for 2 years tops. I think the only reliable linemen on that team is Mangold and maybe Faneca if he isn't on the downside.

Agree with DBrick although I will give him this one more year to see if he got stronger. That's really his biggest problem. The guy is just weak. Disagree on Woody. He's probably not worth the contract but he can play. He's very solid and is an upgrade over who they had

Faneca can still be a very good player for them, but I agree that he might be winding down. The Steelers have a knack for letting their players leave at the right time.

I have been really impressed with our members over the last couple of weeks, everyone has gotten along really well and the posting has been great. Trust me when I say that our jobs are alot easier here than they were there.
    :tantrum:

    And you're right, 3 is a charm.

    Jones
    Mauia
Ryan - next in line to feel the curse of adam

If we skip on Ryan and Flacco I would rather just skip on QBs altogether and take our chances. There's value throughout the draft and no QB is going to match up with whoevers is available in the later rounds. No way do I want to spend a 4th on Josh Johnson or Ainge when we can get a solid TE, WR, LB or OG

But the thing that must concern you is Jones was great last year, the Mauia club was started when Schlesinger was still on our squad and Mauia won out when noone was predicting it. Its true that tragedy befell them from a Dolphins perspective but they were very solid choices.

Solid yes, but I don't see him being a guy that will make them better. And if they plan on playing him at RT like was talked about, that might be a problem for them.

If I was the Jets, I would put D-Brick on a strength program to improve his core strength, just like the one that was talked about in one of the Gholston threads a while back. I'm not writing the kid off by any means, but he needs to improve before I start worrying about the Jets OL.

I love the guy's attitude. He would be a great lockerroom presence but if I was forced to draft a QB in the 6th or 7th I would go with Bernard Morris or Ryan O'Hara. Bernard Morris is beyond raw but he's got the raw tools of an all star. Problem is he makes Flacco look like a polished product. O' Hara is 6'5", has a great arm and good athleticism but once agin its a three year project where you are gambling on being able to bring him up to speed. I just dont see Flynn as starter material. His accuracy is spotty and I dont like his pocket presence. He seems a little nervous in the pocket. Could definitely develop into a good backuop but I dont believe in drafting backups. I think you draft potential starters that you keep as backups while they develop

    I agree

When I did my mock I had Johnson in the 4th, but now after some time to think about it, I would prefer to either wait until later (6th, 7th, UDFA) to address QB or just wait until next year. There are too many good players to choose from and we need to fill alot of areas with young talented players.

    my two cents

I don't know alot about him, other than the fact that he isn't all that experienced and will probably be chosen before the 7th (5th-6th area).

Yeah good point about Woody. I'm projecting him as a Guard but if they stick him at Tackle then my opinion changes. Hopefully the Jets do something like that
