Perhaps a "not this crap again" moment, but I'd ask people to stop and consider this.
P White is our only option for quick scoring strikes on Offense, completion percentage, yards per attempt etc etc really mean nothing once he is in the NFL as they are merely expositive and not predictive numbers.
White may never be a starting Qb in the NFL, I'm not here to argue about the manner in which he short arms the ball, nor his sloppy footwork, what I think is White must be the Wildcat Qb as soon as this Sunday, and he must be good at it, or our offense will stall this year as we play Defenses that are much stouter than the Colts against the run, and Penny is not going to wake up tomorrow with John Elway's arm, basically that leaves Pat White as the only guy who will have the ball in his hands as well as being in a position to make plays.
Game 3 last year we unveiled the wildcat, we were 0-2 at the time, this year in Game 3 I'm making the prediction that we unveil Pat White as the trigger man in the WC and in the spread offense.
Think about it my fellow Phinsfans, there is no one else on the roster on offense who can have as much of a positive impact than Pat White playing WC Qb.

I'd start Henne if Pennington struggles and we lose against the Chargers. Pat White's not ready yet.

The only thing there is any film on is running out of the WC. -
padre31 likes this.

To be honest, I'm more concerned with getting Pat White the ball out in space and running than the passing options...because that's where he's the most dangerous.
-
And White is all we have BTW, on the "D" we have some pools of hidden talent in Wake and Moses and Anderson and Clemons, on the offense we have...err...Patrick Turner...maybe Lex Hilliard...not lookin' good over there.
So if the offense is to score easier points, P White is the way it will happen otherwise it is 35 carries and Penny with 5ypa passing.. -
Well I would like to see him thrown to, see him on reverses.....plays where he's not the one taking snaps, rather than trying to run between tackles
Hell I wanna see him return kicks....we spent a premium pick on this guy, lets get all the value we can.
As far as him running the wildcat, I'm just not sure he's there on the reads yet.....
Another thing is I don't think the Chargers will be able to stop RB in the wildcat, no better than Indy did.......I wanna see at least twice as many WC plays. -
Pat White is simply not big and strong enough to play the Wildcat QB" position. That player MUST be able to run between the tackles for it to work. Which is why Ronnie Brown is playing there and Pat White is lined up as a WR.
"Mr White? I have the CFL on line one". -
Actually as a "Qb" the rules are designed to protect White. -
And I compare Cobbs to the Redskins Rock Cartwright.
As for the Chargers stopping the run...dunno...watch football long enough and the unit that supposedly cannot do something can, for one game, do something like stop the run or limit a passing offense. -
I think you lose those helpful rules when you pull the ball down and try to run between the tackles. -

Did we lose Chad Henne somewhere?
He has a stronger arm and is a better passer IMO. Why is Pat White better then he is? The only thing he does better is run in the open field.
Chad Henne played for the Michigan Wolverines which ran a Pro Set offense, not a spread option. Chad Henne played against major college teams, not the smaller teams that West Virginia plays against.
And in no way does Pat White have the running power to take over from Ronnie Brown.
I do agree with you 100% that Pat White has only has a year or two to be a "success". He does not have the draft status, large contract or the "potential" (a dirty word in the NFL) of a Jason Allen or Ted Ginn. -
My bad, but then anyone can fall down on a play. However he had better be outside the tackles and with no one within 3-5 yards of him. You cannot slide running between the tackles. I've yet to see Ronnie Brown slide feet first instead of making a extra few yards.
And on Pat White's one run attempt he never had a chance to slide before he was almost broken in half.
Unless he is on a passing roll out that rule is a non issue. -
