He was in a handful of times, and seemed like evertime, he would collapse the pocket and force Sanchez to scramble a bit. Why was he used so sparingly? Posted via Mobile Device
Between Porter and Taylor there probably just isn't a ton of space for him, both are still overall better players (at least in my opinion, and apparently the coaches too), even if just for this year. Although I do have to say if he extended his arms a bit more and made that punt block he almost had, he'd definitely have won some serious marks. That had my heart stopped for a second, I thought he was going to get it... SO CLOSE!
Porter and Taylor may be better all around, but I didn't see either one of them collapsing the pocket like Wake did the couple times he was in. Don't see why you couldn't have all three in on passing downs...wake collapsing the pocket and forcing the QB out, then Porter or Taylor coming up to put a hit on him. Just seemed like Sanchez had wau too much time on some of those throws. Posted via Mobile Device
he's fading but last night he was playing with a bum hammy (i think) we have to draft an OLB next year and replace either JT or Porter
Porter was invisible on 3rd down last night. If you can't get all three on the field maybe they should send porter too the bench on 3rd down and bring in wake in to rush the passer.
Well, it turns out that Lex Hilliard was responsible for containment on that side of the field, he simply left to early. As for Wake, JT and JP, I'm beginning to suspect we all will be surprised with what happens with those three. As for last night, JP's hammy wasn't right, JT did "okay" and Wake only had a handful of plays, maybe less than 10.
True, and to be honest it would seem to me that Cam Wake is tradeable to a 4-3 team as a passrushing DE. I don't know if he will ever be quite agile enough to play OLB, but he is a fine DE.
maybe they want to keep wake a little fresh and use him to replace Jt after this season. then maybe JT will retire and become a part "celebrity" owner of the team and use it as a stepping stone to get the fame that distracted him in years past.
