Game #3 of the 2012 is a huge one for the 2012 Dolphins, and here is why:
Look at our following 2 games:
-@ AZ, the Cards did just beat the Patriots in Foxboro, but considering it took a football powerball win to pull it off
-@ Cinci Bengals are very beatable
-Rams at home
Those 3 games are very winnable, the Jets game with a win, keeps us in the thick of the AFCE hunt as well.
Difference can be 4-1 vs 3-2, and to me, one of the things this fanbase needs is that sort of momentum moving forward, 4-1 and we all will be thinking playoffs.

You are right in saying the Jets game is huge. At the same time I truly believe the Dolphins can go 4-1 but like it was said earlier that we should go one game at a time. Let's look forward to the Jets getting a serious butt whuppin on Sunday.

Yeah this game is huge early on for us. I like a lot of you i'm sure HATE the Jets and pretty much always have since I can remember. One of the biggest rivalry games in football that nobody really talks about and we have to get us a win. Not going to be easy at all but we need to pull this out. I think the reason this game is huge is divisional purposes but also because the Cardinals and Bengals games are no gimmes.
Beating the Raiders is one thing but beating this Jets team will be a huge boost for us mentally. I'm thinking about the playoffs until we are just flat out not in the picture of them.dolfan7171 likes this. -
All of us who can make it, let's go to the stadium and fill it up. The guys served up a convincing win when many of us thought we'd go 0-16. They played above themselves and gave all they had. Let's show them support and let the despicable, disgusting, contemptible JEST hear how much we hate them.

Interesting thing about last yr is how much better we were on the road then at home.
Hopefully it carries over to this yr. -
It's the Jets. We could go into a Jets game with both teams being 1-14 and it would be huge.
I'm with you on what you meant... but it's the Jets... God I hate those guys...GreysonWinfield and dolfan7171 like this. -

Just as big as the possibility of the Fins getting on a roll with a win, is the fact that we could send the Jets into the other direction. They play Houston and San Francisco after coming to Miami. Beat them on Sunday, and they're staring 1-4 in the face. Imagine the disfunction! They'll be eaten alive by the NYC media, and beaten up pretty badly by the national media as well.

Troll alert.
Why bother baiting people like this?
This thread has/had nothing to do with Ireland. -
Bengals were a playoff team in 2011, but did not beat any team with a winning record.
AZ has Kolb. -

Somewhat changing your tune after just 2 games aren't you padre? Where did all that gloom and doom go?
Nice to see, none the less.TiP54 likes this. -
If nothing in the OP was true, this game is still huge. Its the Jets.
Team priorities every year should be:
1. Super Bowl
2. Playoffs
3. Division
4. Sweep the Jets
5. Sweep NE
6. Find great prices on back to school items.
7. Sweep the Bills.Colorado Dolfan, Moves and Pandarilla like this. -
If they beat the Jets then the season suddenly appears in a much different light than it had before. Outside of the Patriots and 49ers, you're looking at a very manageable schedule.

not to overreact
there will be some good games
& some bumps in the road
we are rebuilding
I see a tremendous potential emerging as the team develops through 2012
we need to focus on resigning Bush & Hartline ASAP
(afterwards what little we need the draft will provide for next season)

We need a lot, but the draft with all those picks and free agency with all that cap room will provide most of it.
We have to beat the Jets because they represent all that is detestable in the human race. -
Cards are 9-2 in last 11
Bengals are certainly not without talent
I think it's a matter of hangin' with the Jets 'til halftime, let the heat do the rest -

Bugs the hell out of me when these threads turn to basketball.
Who does that?
We play the Jets up there on October 28th after the BYE.
Cards,Bengals,Rams. Before.
This game is huge. Keep on developing that QB.
Running the football is a lost art right? -

What about developing a QB and in the process playing well and keeping pace , watching it unfold.
You have no passion to beat the Jets. That's sad man.
I wanna kick their ***. -
The Heat offer an injection of novocaine starting late October. -

I see the next three games after the Jets as toss ups. The Cards have won 9 of the last 11 and just beat the Pats. The Bengals are being considered division contenders and have promising talents at QB and WR. And anybody who has watched the Rams play this year would know they're playing very well. This is a big game for us simply b/c it's a division game, but I don't agree with the schedule reasons provided. If anything, the schedule makes it more of a must win for the Jets since they follow us with games against the Niners and the Texans. A loss here could put them on track for a four game losing streak.
