FInally, the Wii has some games that can be played online. Question is, are there any worthy games to play online?

Hopefully they will be online as in play anyone in the world at random without friend codes.

Voice Chat would be nice as well.

Another instance where Nintendo is falling flat on its face.

Thats why the gaming gods created PS3s and 360s right?

There's a weekly chart on what people are playing online with Wii and DS. I'll post the latest one.

Nintendo WFC Online Activity - 12/30/07 (Top 10)

    1. [WII] Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock - 1,424,018 connections
    2. [NDS] Pokémon Diamond & Pearl - 1,403,367 connections
    3. [NDS] Mario Kart DS - 380,759 connections
    4. [NDS] Animal Crossing: Wild World - 339,491 connections
    5. [WII] Pokémon Battle Revolution - 245,649 connections
    6. [NDS] The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass - 218,447 connections
    7. [WII] Mario Strikers Charged - 217,084 connections
    8. [WII] Mario & Sonic at the Olympics - 204,054 connections
    9. [NDS] Metroid Prime Hunters - 173,548 connections
    10. [WII] Medal of Honor Heroes 2 - 156,931 connections

    Upcoming
Advance Wars: Days of Ruin [DS, January 21st]
    Endless Ocean [Wii, January 21st]
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games [DS, January 22nd]
Professor Layton and the Curious Villiage [DS, February 4th]
Super Smash Bros. Brawl [Wii, February 10th]

Yeah, no one is ever gonna buy a Wii now. Nintendo will surely have a problem selling them.

Nintendo's taking a "family-friendly" approach to online gaming. Friend Codes are a convoluted mess to ensure that you only add people you know outside of the game, and no voice chat to prevent those dangerous pedophiles from picking up Little Jimmy during a game of Mario Kart.

Oh, yes, Mario Kart Wii will be online. And it'll have online battle mode. Damn, I hope they include Block Fort.

Its still going to sell but It would be nice if they gave gamers a traditional online gaming experience.

I agree. Though Nintendo got ahead this generation by not being traditional.

There's always the inevitable "Wii 2". Maybe Nintendo will loosen the chains a bit next console. :D

Still, all you need to do is have age verification with a credit card to set up the account and parental controls that enables or disables voice chat. Put the parents in charge and let them raise the kids while letting the adults call each other noobs to our hearts content. :bighug:
