Will Allen’s role will be one focus of upcoming OTAs http://blogs.palmbeachpost.com/thed...lens-role-will-be-one-focus-of-upcoming-otas/
not sure how it will play out .... but i am happy with our situation. maybe Smith learned how to tackle and can cover more than the sideline this year ... and i don't say this to bash him ... i really do hope he's improved, because i'd rather have Allen as a commodity and not a necessity. we did bring in and draft some CBs -- along with the expectation of getting Allen back .... so, it isn't like the FO is 'good' with where we are at at CB !
You could very well see Allen at safety in base sets, and then have him drop down to cover the slot when teams try and spread us out. Then either Culver, Clemons or Jones can come in and man the FS spot with a limited focus; thus hopefully eliminating penalties amongst the largely unproven group.
With most teams regularly using the 3 Wide sets, having 3 starting-caliber CBs is quickly becoming a standard.
i thought he had lost some speed before the injury...I agree with Con, like to see him try out at some safety and slot...
