did anyone watch Will's interview today on Aquavision? one of the reporter's asked him how his knee was and he responded "I'll be all right" Then the reporter asked if he'd play next week in which Will paused and said..."I'll be all right." you think our secondary is weak now? Could you imagine it without Will Allen?
WQAM was reporting that he may have a serious knee injury.. That was what I heard on the drive home this evening.
"Kim Bokamper reports Will Allen [might have a] serious knee injury, he's taking an MRI Monday" That's what WQAM kept repeating all day.. im sure everyone agrees that would be devastating... hopefully, he's more than "alright".
I wonder how big of a part the transition of Jason Allen to Cornerback is now. He's going to have to make some strides quickly so we have some athleticism in the secondary. We already had trouble with bigger and physical Wide Receivers. I liked the thought of Jason Allen matching up against some WR's because of his athleticism and I like his size. He's 6'1 so I think he could go up in the air against some WR's. I'm not sure how physical he is. We've seen him lay some people out while they're in the air but I'm wondering how he matches up against those WR's who are 6'2, 220-230 lbs. His progress will be definitely something to monitor in the next few weeks, proving that Will Allen misses a few weeks.
If he had a MRI today wouldn't we know what type of injury it is by now? I think it is nothing serious but if it is we are screwed.
I guess one positive to take out of it was he didn't need crutches or a ridiculous leg cast. He was only wearing a knee brace which may be a good sign.
I'm going to hope for the best regardless of the past. I really don't think it is going to be that serious.
There's no such thing as a realist, you don't know reality until reality happens. People who call themselves realists generally come off as elitist, as if they know everything. I've had plenty of discussions about this in my Philosophy class last year about it. You're either an optimist or a pessimist, I don't think there's an inbetween.... and I think you're starting to leap over to the fence of pessimism. Personally, I think we can beat the Ravens. We've shown that we're an improving team who has found their identity, just not a Super Bowl contender like some was hoping after bringing down a Brady-less New England team and the hot and cold San Diego Chargers. We played solid against the Texans, we were up 14-3 and a punt return touchdown turned the game into a close one. I'm certain if that punt return for a TD didn't happen, we'd be 3-2. It definitely changed the Texans' intensity after it happened..
Realistically speaking, I'd say thats a fair perspective, based on the merits of real events, it would not be without reason to conclude, that reasonable potential, can therefore be realized, for reasons one might even say, are written in the words of a true realist.
Then, like Aqua, I guess I'm pessimistically optimistic about the Fins then...You can call it what you want, but the last few years have indeed made some of us "realists". Where we don't wear the aqua and orange glasses anymore....
I heard that rumor yesterday but its still only a rumor. There is nothing mentioned in the rags . Hopefully if he is knicked up its not serious
I agree 100% with this stance. You can't tell me what will or won't happen. You can only find reasons why we will win or reasons you won't win to support your OPINION. I'll never say we WILL win a game, but I'll always give you reasons we can. That is optimism.
I realistically and pessimistically think we might lose this game but optimistically believe we have a decent chance of winning.
good post there. ALTHOUGH there is a point where a bias, i.e. your fanhood, will cloud your judgement therefore homerism takes its place over rational, logical opinion i.e. realism
we're competitive on a regular basis. thats a lot to be thankful for. this game, as opposed to the last two 50-50s, is a 60-40, that we win. that said, 40% chance of rain, im bringin an umbrella.
its creeping me out. everytime i see one of your posts, you over there on the left peeking at me through a little window. stop judging me!!!
I think if it was bad we would have heard about it already if he had his MRI on Monday and it is Wensday I dont think anything is wrong. Knock on wood
With or without Will Allen, he'll have a huge game. We've been poor against big WRs all year long--Fitzgerald and Johnson. Will Allen played both games, but they (opponents) found ways to get those guys on Goodman and Lehan. Even when Will was covering Fitzgerald he had 2 huge plays.
