Anybody know what our corresponding roster move is? Are we signing someone or promoting someone from the practice squad?
We are promoting the tackling dummy. It will man the MLB spot this week, and hopefully force a Bills's running back to at least have to adjust his route to the end zone. It won't be any worse than what we are trotting out there at the MLB spot.
Eh, took a peak at Draft 2013, Davis was pick #93, Jenkins #104, tbh we did not miss anyone by taking him looking back, unlike the Misi/Gronkowski fiasco. Davis, Jamar Taylor, the Staff is not exactly turning those high draft picks into even servicible NFL players
Davis is a guy that most people didn't have making the roster heading into the last preseason game. He makes two picks off Mike Glennon and we are able to parlay that into a seventh round pick and people are complaining, seriously?
Will Davis having a great game against the Steelers. Looks like a different man. Should we really be surprised?
Two clutch OT deflections. No Pittsburgh receiver with more than 50+ yards. Sticky coverage all night long. Simply looks like he's being used properly out there. Granted, Michael Vick is throwing the ball...
Yeah, Vick is throwing. Also noticing that the Steelers are not using the center of the field that much. When they do, Vick is throwing near-picks. Makes it much easier for a DB to cover outside the hash marks. The Steelers are gonna have a long road if they don't rectify that. They were one of my teams I was choosing to go all of the way this year.
When you're traded to a well established franchise top to bottom like Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Green Bay, Denver etc, you are expected to perform at a high level regardless of skill level. The standard and attitude is always be great. We don't have that attitude. A guy like Will Davis or Vontae Davis have their struggles here, they go to another franchise where expectations and standards are higher, and they go out and perform well in their new teams. Bunch of former dolphins around the league performing well after leaving here.
I don't understand the obsession with ex-Dolphins. If they're likable, like Will Davis, I wish them well and hope they have success in their next stop. I'm not going to throw a temper tantrum because Will Davis made a play for Baltimore tonight and shake my fist because we traded him.
I know you meant "Vontae". But Vontae was a solid player in his own right while here in Miami. He wrote himself that ticket. He was pretty young when drafted, and had some growing up to do. The ability for Vontae has always been there.
I get what you're saying but I think many are sick of seeing players not develop due to poor coaching only to go to a team with a good coach and perform at a much higher level. In other words, I think the obsession has more to do with our string of crappy coaches and poor roster moves than the actual players themselves.
Another indictment on this coaching staff. Square pegs in round holes is the modus operandi. Sent from my SM-G360T1 using Tapatalk
I'm not mad that we traded Will Davis, but when ex Dolphin players perform well elsewhere like we've seen countless times. It for one, proves to me that they were talented and that we DID scout them correctly. While two....it tells me that the coaching staff did an inadequate job maximizing their talents. However moot of a point this may be, lets assume Dion Jordan was drafted and brought up with the Green Bay Packers instead of us. Would he be labeled a bust? Would he be serving a year long suspension? We know Jordan is a knucklehead, but on a team like Green Bay where you are held to a higher standard, I believe it would have made a difference. He'd probably be a major contributor for them.
Guys, he made one play. Let's wait a while before he becomes one that got away. Nolan Carroll made a few plays last week. How come no one is talking about him?
We should be, but at least he walked in FA. Trading a guy with as much talent as Davis has, with 2 years left on his rookie deal, was a stupid move. This is why the Ravens have 2 rings, they have an excellent GM who can recognize talent, can't understate the value in that. Hickey still has a ton to prove.
And he was stuck to Antonio like Glue all night. It's the lack of proper coaching in Miami, it has been since Wanny and continues today with queasy.....plus, all of these defensive players that we had that moved on to perform much better elsewhere should really open Ross' eyes to how sorry not only Cautious Joe is but how bad Coyle sucks.
This is more an indictment on the GM. First move of his I've really questioned. And it's still early but the Stills trade isn't looking too hot right now either, but in theory we could still really use his speed.
Teams are lining up to snap up our discards. There is a lot of hidden talent there that wasnt discovered by this inept regime.
I always liked Davis better then Taylor. I could never really understand what the coaches were talking about. The stats one year had Taylor with a much higher passing rating against him then Davis. Was disappointed in the trade.
The second one where the receiver had him beat on a slant and Vick threw an awful pass that happened to hit him in the hands? Yeah, no, not counting that. And I'm not downplaying anything. I'm happy for him. I'm not the one *****ing about him getting traded.
After rotating in and out to start, Davis was on the field in all nickel situations in the 4th Q and in OT, and covered Brown on a fair amount of snaps. He played really well last night and stuck to his man when he got thrown at on key plays. It is what it is.
The real truth here is will davis just showed more competense then brice McCain has in 3 games. Obviously Vick throwing the ball as terrible as he does really helped. When the opposing qb can't hit the broadside of a barn and theyre calling the safest routes in existence, that allows the cb's to play agressive. If big ben were playing, the threat of the deep ball (will davis' downside) would have been far more prevalent.
That's fine. And again, good for him. I like him. But this is just another opportunity for angry fans to get angry over something that doesn't matter. He's gone. One good game isn't going to turn him into a Pro-Bowl corner. This is a thread should have been bumped well into the future, once we know who Will Davis really is. Not after one game.
No that wasnt the play. If you count that one then it would be 3 plays. He had one in the fourth quarter and one in OT. Or two in OT if you count that play.
As much talent? Will Davis was flat out horrible for us. He may have played better last night, but that doesn't make me forget the sick feeling I got in my stomach when passes were thrown his way when he was in Miami. Our coaching staff sucks but so does Will Davis.
