Now that we have Parcells on board, and after his latest comments on "problem children" do you see us retaining Ricky? He did nothing to up his value last season due to his "cheap shot" injury, so cutting him loose gives us nothing in return.
Plus I haven't seen a Ricky thread in almost a month, so I'll keep the tradition alive.

Long live the Ricky Williams threads!
I see Bill sitting down with him before he makes any kind of decision. I don't think he'll knee jerk and just cut him loose just because of his history without talking to him first. I think he may keep him. -
Realistically, I think it's fair to say Parcells will consider keeping him. That don't mean that he will. But he'll likely take into consideration the fact the Ricky has shown that he is abiding by the NFL substance abuse policy and has kept his body in shape. I'm not suggesting he WILL keep RW. But the fact that we have so many holes to fill, the fact the Ronnie is coming off a severe knee injury and he has yet to play a complete NFL season, then it's not out of the question that Bill will hang on to Ricky. ALSO, since the ultimate say is (supposedly) not his, then Ireland would be involved in making that decision.

no i think he needs to be gone

IMO, there is no point in cutting him, but if there is someone to do such a thing.... it's Bill.
-
Agreed bro... There is no loss to the team in keeping him around. The worst that could happen is that he screws up again and he is done. A guy with this talent, and making minimum dollars agains the cap is a keeper, EVEN IN BILL's eyes... -

The answers are usually the same in these threads.
Its usually, OMG yes, keep him!
Or, no friggin way, cut him NOW!
haha -
I am going to say Bill Parcells will trade him away for a 6th round pick.

Colorado Dolfan ...dirty drownin' man?
We'd be lucky to get airfare for Ricky to get wherever he was traded...
I think he stays. -
Ricky's contract renewed
The agent for injured Dolphin Ricky Williams said Bill Parcells has renewed Williams' contract. But trading running back is possible.

I agree with most of the replies, there is little loss in having Rickey Williams on the roster. Everyone expects him to fail, but if he stays clean, he could have a good career.
If I were his agent, I would load up his contract with incentives. that is the only way Rickey make any real money this season.

woot woot!!!!

Love that.. With Ronnie, Ricky and Booker, we may be able to turn Chatman into a pick. He's been pretty consistent since Ronnie went out.
-
here is the ONLY problem with keeping Ricky. You need to carry 4 RB's. you can't just keep 3 the logical top 3 (Ricky Ronnie and Booker) ALL have their question marks: Ronnie is coming off injury, Ricky is unreliable and Booker is not every-down back material. If we keep Ricky, we almost have to keep 4 backs, whether the 4th is Chatman, Cobbs, or a new guy.
In the end, I hope we keep him....and can't keep myself from rooting for the guy, but it does present this one roster question. -
I wish we could have seen more of Ricky this season. In the whopping 6 carries he did have, it still looked like the speed and shiftiness was still there.
