    Denver, CO
001 - Pittsburgh Steelers LUKE JOECKEL, OT, TEXAS A&M
The new Pittsburgh Steelers General Manager had over twenty million reasons to send Ben Roethlisberger packing for the number one overall pick. Many are penciling in a quarterback here but it seems to be a bit premature. The Steelers appear to be confident in Brock Osweiler as their quarterback of the future after investing a second round draft pick in the second year pro. The Steelers have had question marks on their offensive line for many years and they will invest another first round pick in the department. Don't be surprised to see Pittsburgh play musical chairs with their linemen as their starting five looks like Joeckel, Gilbert, Pouncey, DeCastro, and Adams after they send Willie Colon packing. You can expect the Steelers to heavily pursue Matt Moore as a stop-gap quarterback for 2013.

002 - New England Patriots GENO SMITH, QB, WEST VIRGINIA
The New England Patriots have made some interesting moves thus far this season by replacing Vince Wilfork with BJ Raji then sending Aaron Hernandez away to possibly move to a more traditional offense with Rob Gronkowski remaining as the starter. The Patriots also made the surprise move to send future hall of fame quarterback, Tom Brady, packing. Right now it appears that Ryan Mallet is set to be the starter in 2013 but that should change after Geno Smith is selected to be the quarterback of the present and the future. The Patriots have another draft selection in the first round so it wouldn't be surprising to see them trade down before draft day to add some more weapons before making a run at Joe Flacco who is expected to receive the franchise tag.

003 - Oakland Raiders STAR LOTUELEI, DT, UTAH
The Oakland Raiders are known for their flashy failure picks but instead of opting for another wide receiver who runs a sub 4.3 40 yard dash, they'll select the prospect that many are comparing to All-Pro Haloti Ngata. The Raiders' defense could use some work and you can expect them to go best player available here simply because they have too many needs not to. Lotuelei will instantly start next to Tommy Kelley in 2013... who may have to take a paycut to stay in Oakland.

004 - Carolina Panthers ERIC FISHER, OT, CENTRAL MICHIGAN
The Carolina Panthers could go a number of ways here but I expect them to shore up their offensive line to help protect Josh Freeman in 2013. Freeman has been known to cave under pressure and he'll definitely need some help as it appears that Jordan Gross has worn out his welcome in Carolina. The Panthers will likely be praying that Star Lotuelei falls to them and he very well could depending on how the Raiders feel that morning. Fisher will give Freeman a sense of relief as he has all the tools necessary to be a successful left tackle in the NFL.

005 - Detroit Lions BJOERN WERNER, DE, FLORIDA STATE
The Detroit Lions could really use a quarterback here in the first round but with the seventh overall draft selection coming up soon; they'll likely wait and select the best defensive end in the draft. The Lions could be losing Cliff Avril to free agency and you can be sure that they'll be needing pass rush from somewhere other than inside. Bjoern Werner has all the tools to be a successful 4-3 defensive end in the NFL with an explosive first step and great size. Werner should be able to take advantage of the double teams that Ndamukong Suh will face in 2013.

006 - Miami Dolphins DEE MILLINER, CB, ALABAMA
The Miami Dolphins have a number of holes to fill and that will look to continue to improve the secondary by adding Alabama's Dee Milliner. With Sean Smith likely departing in free agency, the Dolphins will need to add a cornerback to play opposite of recently acquired Tramon Williams. The Dolphins have a lot of work to do in free agency but adding the best defensive back in the NFL Draft can only help their efforts to contend in 2013. With Tom Brady out of the AFC Picture, the Dolphins certainly feel that the division is up for grabs.

007 - Detroit Lions JARVIS JONES, LB, GEORGIA
The Detroit Lions surprise everyone by neglecting the quarterback position in the first round with the hopes of their target falling to them near the top of the second round. The Lions opt to select the best linebacker in the draft, giving their defense a little more credibility after trading away Stephen Tulloch for chump change. With the emergence of Von Miller as a 4-3 rush linebacker, you can expect that the Lions will hope to employ Jones in the same fashion. Pass rush is important no matter where you get it from and the Lions have vastly improved theirs by adding two premier players at their respective position.

008 - Cincinnati Bengals DAMONTRE MOORE, DE, TEXAS A&M
The Cincinnati Bengals traded away Jermaine Cunningham in a deal that brought Brandon Marshall to pair up with DeMaryius Thomas as the team's two big targets. That opened up a huge hole at defensive end and the Bengals will be thrilled to see Damontre Moore fall to them at eight overall. The Bengals have added a few options of rushing the passer after acquiring Lawrence Timmons and Brian Cushing, however Moore will provide an instant impact as a starter. You can expect the Bengals to use their franchise tag on Michael Johnson which will give Cincinnati quite the front seven.

009 - Baltimore Ravens CHANCE WARMACK, OG, ALABAMA
The Baltimore Ravens will likely acquire two more first round picks for Joe Flacco as they appear to be content with Mike Vick as their starter in 2013. The Ravens traded away their best offensive guard, Marshal Yanda, for a second round draft pick and now that opens up a huge hole on the offensive line. If the Ravens expect Ray Rice to be their workhorse back after the surprise release of Bernard Pierce, they'll need someone to help pave the way. Chance Warmack is a safe pick and he can do just that.

010 - Tennessee Titans KENNY VACCARO, S, TEXAS
The Tennessee Titans sent one former Longhorn safety packing but they'll restore faith in Tennessee by adding another Longhorn safety. Vaccaro is extremely versatile and will look to play free safety in Tennessee in hopes of improving the ball skills of the secondary. The Titans are certainly a good team to see move up in the draft to land one of the premier pass rushers or offensive linemen with thee more draft selections in the top seventy five. Don't be surprised to see them move up for Chance Warmack or possibly Bjoern Werner.

011 - Houston Texans JONATHAN BANKS, CB, MISSISSIPPI STATE
The Houston Texans seem to love trading their players and picks for more players... the Texans now have just one draft selection in the first four rounds... which just so happens to be the number eleven overall selection. The Texans will be hoping to see Eric Fisher fall to them but will have to settle by adding a cornerback to play opposite of Jonathan Joseph. Jonathan Banks would instantly start in Houston but this is a team that is tough to gauge where they'll go in the draft right now.

012 - Cleveland Browns SHARRIF FLOYD, DT, FLORIDA
The Browns are continuing their transition to the 3-4 defense and likely will be hoping that their defense is what will keep them in games as Brandon Weeden continues to develop. Sharrif Floyd appears to have the ability to transition to the 3-4 defense as a defensive end. After acquiring former Dolphins, Paul Soliai and Kendall Langford, the Browns will have added another big man from Florida to complete their 3-4 transition.

013 - Washington Redskins MANTI TE'O, LB, NOTRE DAME
The newly hired Washington Redskins GM has never been known to go with the flow as he isn't afraid to make bold moves if he believes in them. Stringer Bell will look to bring Manti Te'o to Washington DC with London Fletcher moving closer to retirement each season. It may take a while for Te'o to be a leader in the Redskins' locker room but it will happen once people forget about that whole fake girlfriend thing.

014 - Carolina Panthers XAVIER RHODES, CB, FLORIDA STATE
The Carolina Panthers will continue their youth movement as they will look round out their secondary with one of the top cornerbacks in the draft. Chris Gamble is likely to be cut from the Panthers in the next few weeks and they'll likely look to draft his replacement. Rhodes has great size and will be an excellent fit with the Panthers with SICK looking to bring a far more physical defense to Carolina.

015 - New Orleans Saints BARKEVIOUS MINGO, DE, LSU
The New Orleans Saints will probably have to cut ties with Will Smith as they battle through their salary cap issues. This will leave Cameron Jordan and Martez Wilson as their best options on the defensive line. Barkevious Mingo is certainly a BPA pick as well which is something that Saint Greg is known for. Mingo could use some time to develop even more but he may be able to provide a huge impact on a Saints defense that needs it.

016 - St. Louis Rams KEENAN ALLEN, WR, CALIFORNIA
The first wide receiver goes off the draft board as the St. Louis Rams decide that their current group of wide receivers don't offer enough to truly give Sam Bradford a fair shot at remaining the quarterback beyond 2013. The Rams are desperate at the position to where they are actually considering using their franchise tag on a slot receiver that struggles to stay healthy each season. The Rams have plenty of directions to go with this pick but it's looking like Allen is the pick.

017 - Kansas City Chiefs LANE JOHNSON, OT, OKLAHOMA
The Kansas City Chiefs have a difficult decision ahead with not much cap room but two key players potentially hitting the open market. The Chiefs will likely opt to use their franchise tag on Dwayne Bowe or Branden Albert and my guess is they'll bring back the disgruntled wide receiver. They have a fantastic right tackle in Eric Winston and they'll bring in Lane Johnson to give recently acquired Ben Roethlisberger two bookend tackles to protect him for the next five years. Johnson has great mobility in pass protection and should be able to improve his run blocking at the next level.

018 - Dallas Cowboys SAM MONTGOMERY, DE, LSU
The Dallas Cowboys have a lot of work ahead of themselves with a lot of players with excessive cap hits while being about $23.7M over the salary cap at this given time. It's very difficult to see the Cowboys being able to retain Anthony Spencer, be that the franchise tag or re-signing him in the open market. They'll opt to select Sam Montgomery to groom to be Spencer's replacement. Montgomery has everything you ask for in a pass rushing outside linebacker but does he have the work ethic? The Cowboys GM won't be afraid to find the answer to that question himself.

019 - New York Giants TYLER EIFERT, TE, NOTRE DAME
The New York Giants don't have many players on their roster remaining and you can expect a few more cuts or trades to occur before free agency starts. However the Giants will really need a tight end come draft day and they'll take the best one in the draft in Tyler Eifert. Eifert is very well-rounded and is exactly what the Giants look to employ in their offensive system. Eifert will thrive in an offense with Eli Manning running the show.

020 - Chicago Bears SHELDON RICHARDSON, DT, MISSOURI
Sheldon Richardson could probably go about five to ten spots higher but he falls to the Bears who, after letting Henry Melton cash in on the open market, will definitely have the need for an athletic defensive tackle. Richardson is an explosive defender who is known for his playmaking ability, something that the Bears are all too familiar with. Richardson will hope to have the same amount of success that his former teammate, Aldon Smith, is currently enjoying in San Francisco.

021 - Minnesota Vikings EZEKIEL ANSAH, DE, BYU
The Minnesota Vikings General Manager was reportedly furious after a few mock drafts had the Vikings selecting a defensive tackle. We didn't stray too far from the logic of the Vikings needing an extra body on the defensive line. Ansah has an amount of upside in his game that is comparable to Jason Pierre-Paul along with plenty of versatility that the Vikings could use in a number of ways. With the likes of Jared Allen and Brian Robison already rushing the passer, it could be very scary for Jay Cutler, Aaron Rodgers, and whoever the Lions decide to select in round two.

022 - St. Louis Rams DESMOND TRUFANT, CB, WASHINGTON
The St. Louis Rams General Manager will probably be tempted to double up at the wide receiver position with Cordarrelle Patterson but they'll ultimately decide to shore up their secondary with the likes of Desmond Trufant. The Rams are very confident in their top two cornerbacks after trading away All-Pro Cortland Finnegan but they'll certainly need someone they trust in nickel packages. Trufant will offer a lot of upside for the Rams and they'll hope he can be every bit as good as his brother, Marcus, in the NFL.

023 - Minnesota Vikings CORDARRELLE PATTERSON, WR, TENNESSEE
The Minnesota Vikings once again go with the best player available model but this time it actually fills a dire need. The Vikings have the best running back in the game today in Adrian Peterson but asides from that, quarterback Christian Ponder doesn't have much help in the passing game after sending Percy Harvin packing. The Vikings currently have Michael Jenkins and Jason Avant as their starters but Cordarrelle Patterson should steal snaps very quickly from these two as the season wears on.

024 - Indianapolis Colts JONATHAN COOPER, OG, NORTH CAROLINA
The Indianapolis Colts have a lot to work to do in free agency and could big major players in the offseason with nearly $47.0M in cap space for free agents. Andrew Luck had to make a lot of magic happen for the Colts last year with a makeshift offensive line. The Colts General Manager should help Luck out by drafting an offensive guard with a fairly weak offensive guard market outside of Andy Levitre. Cooper is pretty good value for the Colts here and it fills a need, perfect for Indianapolis.

025 - Seattle Seahawks JESSE WILLIAMS, DT, ALABAMA
The Seattle Seahawks seem to have filled out the roster nicely thus far but they won't be done quite yet. The Seahawks really revamped their defensive line, whether that's a good thing or not is yet to be seen. Seattle brought in Terrence Cody to replace impending free agent Alan Branch and after sending Brandon Mebane to Baltimore, they'll look to replace him with Jason Williams out of Alabama. Williams is incredibly strong and has a huge frame that should allow their pass rushers, Chris Clemons, Trent Cole, and Bruce Irvin, to work their magic in disrupting the quarterback.

026 - Green Bay Packers JONATHAN HANKINS, DT, OHIO STATE
The Packers are the middle of switching to a 4-3 defense and they'll try to complete the transformation by adding an interior defensive lineman. Their current interior linemen are questionable as full-time starters, however as a rotation, they could be very solid. Jonathan Hankins should give the Packers one more defensive tackle to rotate on the line, keeping the Packers very fresh up front.

027 - New York Jets MIKE GLENNON, QB, NORTH CAROLINA STATE
The New York Jets General Manager isn't afraid to go against the grain and he'll pass on Matt Barkley for Mike Glennon, who he feels can be the next Joe Flacco. Glennon has great size and probably has the most talent of all the quarterbacks in the draft this year. Consistency is the biggest problem for Glennon at this moment but with proper coaching, he could turn out to be a good starter in the NFL. The Jets may be looking at a triple threat match in training camp between Mark Sanchez, Blaine Gabbert, and Mike Glennon... and I'm sure there will be a sell out crowd to watch.

028 - San Francisco 49ers JOHNATHAN JENKINS, DT, GEORGIA
The San Francisco 49ers General Manager has went on to state that that 49ers will have the best draft class in 2013. It's a bold claim for the rookie general manager but they'll kick off their draft class with a bang by selecting the biggest man available in Johnathan Jenkins. Standing 6'4” and weighing nearly 360 pounds, Jenkins is a disruptive force in the middle that the 49ers could certainly use. The 49ers have some great defensive ends in their 3-4 scheme with fantastic linebackers thrown in there as well. However they don't seem to have that presence in the middle at the moment and Jenkins will give them exactly what the doctor ordered.

029 - New England Patriots ALEX OKAFOR, DE, TEXAS
The New England Patriots will probably be tempted to select a wide receiver to bolster their offense but they'll find Okafor to be too good to pass up. The Patriots seem to have a great pass rusher in the making with Chandler Jones but they could certainly use someone to upgrade the left defensive end position. Alex Okafor will be an excellent player to complement to Jones with his combination of strength, size, and non-stop motor.

030 - Atlanta Falcons MATT ELAM, SS, FLORIDA
The Atlanta Falcons may see William Moore go elsewhere for more money and that means that they will have to address the position in the draft. The Falcons couldn't do much better than Elam at strong safety because he is simply a playmaker. Athletic, instinctive, and dynamic are three words that you could use to describe Elam's playing style. If the Falcons do manage to bring back Moore, don't be surprised to see this pick be a tight end or offensive tackle.

031 - San Francisco 49ers DION JORDAN, DE, OREGON
The San Francisco 49ers will look to hit another grand slam with this draft selection and they will once again aim to bolster their defense. Dion Jordan is a player who could see himself in the top fifteen if someone truly believes in his potential. Jordan is a freak athlete with plenty of room to still grow. The 49ers will likely groom Jordan as their future outside linebacker opposite of All-Pro Aldon Smith. Parys Haralson will likely be looked to show Jordan the way and if the 49ers can hit on both Smith and Jordan, the outlook won't look good for the NFC West quarterbacks.

032 - New York Jets ZACH ERTZ, TE, STANFORD
The New York Jets have two late first round picks which could suggest that they will be in play for Joe Flacco as the next starting quarterback in the Big Apple. Right now we're thinking the Jets will develop their own Joe Flacco but follow the Indianapolis Colts' plan of attack by giving Glennon a big body tight end to grow with. Zach Ertz is a great athlete that runs good routes helping him create separation to get behind the defense. Ertz needs to continue to grow as a blocker but he can provide an immediate impact as a receiver for the Jets.

Atleast Peter mentioned the Cardinals pick. It's decent, but the Jets aren't silly like the Dolphins GM and attempting to pair twins.

There you go. Fixed it for you.

I have to admit I'd be a little upset if that was how the board looked when I'm on the clock. Banks could be an option depending on what happens in FA. There is a player available that it could be really hard to pass on though despite the fact that he does not fill a need.

Well I did turn those 6 picks and overpriced vets of the Bills into say:

    1st - Brian Orakpo
    2nd - Philip Rivers
    3rd - Lavonte David
    4th - Josh Wilson
    5th - O'Brien Schofield
with a couple young up and comers in Chykie Brown, Steven Johnson, Damaris Johnson

So I'm happy where those picks ended up. Just got to fill a couple holes on offense via FA and then use the remaining picks I have to fill depth.
