With also an improving Bills team, will this be a killer in our coaching search ?

I personally don't want a coach who doesn't think he can compete with the best in the league. Pretty sure a guy like Cowher isn't afraid of Belicheat, Rexy, or Chan.

Well Dj, if anything the Patriots mtn of draft picks demands a GM such as Ireland who can beat the bushes and come out with usable talent, ditto the Bills consistently picking in the Top 10 for the last 3 yrs, it means both will upgrade their athleticism on the roster.
The phins with our normal draft, 6 or 7 picks in the middle of each round means we always will be behind those two teams IF we rely only on the Draft as our only means of talent acquisition, all the mock draft cleverness in the world will not change that fact of life.
To put it this way, our 6 picks vs the Patriots 12 picks for the last 2 drafts and their 12 picks in this upcoming draft including more or less 3 first rd picks (3 of the first 33 picks) is a losing battle that must be recognized and planned for moving forwards.DolfanJake likes this. -
But also is just being in the same division as NE & NYJ a deterent in our search ? Will coaches stay away because of the difficulty in winning here ? -

As long as Ross gets away from the typical Aldous Huxlerian pick (Gruden) and the typical George Orwellian pick (Cowher) and actually shows some use of his intuitive faculty instead of linear thought, I think I'll be okay with whoever he picks.
If it's Gruden, I'll break out the popcorn and lower expectations
If it's Cowher, I'll break out the crowd control helmet and lower expectations -

I disagree that the jets are a strong team. They're a solid team this year who are bound to regress next year.

Sparano is not going anywhere. Now, same ol thing next year ? The man is gone but Ross is not getting rid of Sparano or Ireland IF they can give a clear concise report on how they are going to dig their ways out of this hole.
First question I would ask is Tony, why did it take 15 games for you to realize Berger is not a starting center in the NFL. That would be my first question. Sparano kinda try to not bash Berger in saying during the period Berger was down we thought about Incognito. COMPLETE BS, while Berger was down they thought about another bad center to fill in for Berger, Cory Proctor. -
