So there are 24 winning teams in the nfl this year?

The fact you have 3 topics to discuss out of 60k posts says it all. You spend seemingly the whole day doing to other what I've done to you. Argue about nothing related to football. You have nothing better to do than go around and make a "chucklenuts" out of yourself all day with the same handful of people. BTW what 41 yr old man says chucklenuts? I typically ignore your posts for good reason but I'll answer your actual football questions.
W/L record is obviously a team record. That goes without saying. The QB however has more say in W/L than anyone else much like W/L isn't a great Stat for Starting Pitchers in baseball but the starting pitcher has more say in that than anyone else. Typically good QBs and good SPs have good records. There are exceptions. Are you saying Thill is a top 10 QB because he played like 1 for 6 weeks of his 3 1/2 yr career? The guy has never shown consistency and that's a lot of people's beef with Thill. He show small spurts of being a franchise QB but apparently needs everyone around him to be good in order for him to look good. That's a problem.
We haven't adequately replaced Wallace, no. He had his warts but he consistently got open downfield, usually wide open by nfl standards. Stills has caught what 3 deep passes? Dropped another 2 or 3. I'm sorry if I expect more out of my QB than you do. I don't make excuses for HIS play but I do take into account his supporting cast. I can separate the two, unlike you.
Yes Genius, all 60K+ of my posts are about Tannehill.
No one on this site has argued that QBs are not the most important player. Soooooooo.....
I very clearly said if Tannehill gets a decent line he could be Top 10 because the last time he had a line playing decently, he was a Top 10 QB. He was consistent when he had a line. Most QBs need a decent line or at least an OC to scheme around a bad one.
I didn't ask if we replaced Wallace. I asked if the deep ball has improved. And before you miss the point again, "improvement" implies a scale not a destination. Who says I don't expect more?
Here's the problem, you and your ilk, don't have a firm grasp of reality. See, in the real world, someone can defend a QB against false negative criticism and still recognize that same QB has areas he could actually improve in.
Hopefully, you'll notice a trend with yourself in our "discussion". You have a real hard time understanding the ability to have multiple thoughts, ideas, things going on, etc.
Earlier, you couldn't believe that someone could care about what goes on with the board and literally anything at the same time. You can't believe 60K+ posts can be about multiple topics, and finally you can't believe that someone can defend a QB against baseless claims and still think there's actual room for that QB to improve.

I want Tannehill to be a complete qb, how can we all not agree on that when the guy refuses to run and his running production is almost nil at this point...maybe if he incorporated these two elements to his game he would have more backers..I know I would..It just doesnt seem that he has that ability to think about two things at once in those moments..
he hasnt run on his own in three strait games...this boggles the mind.
the thing is a lot of folks think I harp on this, when I think its the fastest way for him to improve his, and his offenses production, and for us to increase the percentage of winning and improving our third down conversion percentage.
if tannehill runs more than two or three times a game he will end up on IR like Luck. He's a straight line runner. Those types of runners take hits. The coaching staff was right not letting him run. Now that Campbell is desperate he may let the reigns loose but if he does it too much expect tannehill to end the season in a hospital. the indy coaching staff learned their lesson. they are telling luck to stop running and start using your arm more

25% of them had tannehill in tier 2. jdang doesnt reveal what doesnt suit him. he's a lawyer. they're sneaky that way :)
and btw tier 3 would end somewhere around 15-18 so even if he was the worst of tier 3 he would be higher than the amatuers ranks

Tanny never had a high completion percentage throughout college and the pros until Lazor shrunk the field. But this year he looks better
Lmao! Another lie by the Tannehill crowd. 5th in completion percentage. Lol. They really hope you don't look up the stats to confirm when they tell you he is elite in this and that. Another Tannehill fan told me the packers win without Rodgers after they went 2-6 without him in 2013. And the Pats went to the playoffs in 2008 the year Brady was out with the injury he had. And the Colts win without Luck when they went 2-14 the year before he was drafted. Unless if beating the lowly Titans is winning without Andrew Luck? And the Steelers win without Big Ben. 4-2 with him. 2-2 without. And one of those wins was against the Chargers. And how about these Tannehill fans saying he has SIGNIFICANTLY improved his deep ball throw? Thank you for doing research and bringing up the stats that disprove that ridiculous notion. Even though simply watching the games you should know that. Shouldn't need stats to know that. And his deep ball is even worse when you factor out the big YAC plays in that Texans game with those 3 long plays that were TDs. Anything they say you have to confirm it.

Aaron rodgers has a history of being a great qb and every player can have a down year.Tannehill has proven nothing in this league in 4 years.
"resnor wrote:
Sure, but I'm not arguing that Tannehill is elite. In fact you're on the right track with this argument, I think a team letting a pitcher down is exactly what we're arguing with Tannehill. The oline is atrocious. It would be like a pitcher having an entire infield of players who can't field a ball.
I keep asking, and no one will answer, how many "good QBs" are actually on teams with as many glaring holes and below average play from units as the Dolphins.
Funny you don't think it's a far off comparison now. Hmm. Like I said I'm a Mets fan and the mets just so happen to have dominant power pitcher who played in front of the worse middle infield in baseball last year. They had minor leaguers playing 3rd most the season because Wright was hurt (think Albert), they had a 2B playing SS who wasn't good enough to stick at SS in the minors (flores) think Dallas Thomas, they had a 2B who is the worse fielding 2B in baseball since Jeff Kent (Daniel Murphy) . Guess what happened? The team and starters W/L record suffered and they blew 3 leads in the World Series. But...here's the kicker, those starting pitchers were good enough to LEAD their suspect supporting cast to more Wins than losses and even a *Gulp* playoff appearance and N.L. pennant. The least Thill could do in 4 seasons is finish 10-6. He's had his chances late in seasons and has fallen on his face. Will you make excuses for him when he is on another team? Sure he needs help, the problem is he needs more help than we can seem to get him.

ALOT actually.
Eli Manning, Phillip Rivers, Joe Flacco, Derek Carr, Matt Stafford, Drew Brees and Andrew Luck all have worst defenses and running games. Only 5 of those guys are having good seasons but I think these are generally good Qb's...
I didn't even look up QBs who are CLEARLY better than good (Brady, Rodgers, Ryan, Palmer etc)
Eli

Do you actually believe the stuff you write?
Seriously, are you thinking the majority of great QBs play on bad teams and bad QBs play on great teams or...?
And you think a preseason power ranking should have teams that finished the previous year with 12 or more losses at the top of the rankings and teams that made the playoffs should be at the bottom or...?
I thought that this team record was appropriate in this thread, to remember the good old days:
MOST CONSECUTIVE GAMES WITH NOSACKS ALLOWED
19!!!!!!!
5th through 16th in 1988 and 1stthrough 7th in 1989
19 games in a row where Marino wasn't sacked! To borrow a line from The Princess Bride, that's inconceivable! We can't go 19 attempts without giving a sack up.

HUH?? Arod has the 5th best rating, Newton the 21st. But with a guy like Newton thats not indicative of his value as a qb.

Why is it when QBs are mentioned their record as a starter is mentioned as well? But that's not the case when people talk about a MLB, FS, RB, or OL?

because people who know nothing about football always feel they can comment on QBs without looking foolish. Its a little more difficult for the casual fan to discuss the intricacies of the offensive line let alone they actually have to know their names
