Since he never recieved a new contract can he be traded draft day for a pick? I sure would not like seeing him in Jets or Pats colors.

2) He is not under contract with Miami, therefore we can't trade him for anything.xphinfanx likes this. -

Right now we only have 2 RB's on our roster...Hilliard and Sheets. I believe Brown and Williams will sign elsewhere and Cobbs won't be offered a contract. If 1 is kept, it will be Williams. However, he is going to have to do some repair work with the staff and team since he blasted them after the season. Maybe he has already done that, but I think the team is more open to keeping him over Brown.
That being said...RB is our #1 priority heading into this draft. If we don't take Ingram in the first round, we HAVE to take the best available in the 3rd round. Other option is trading down to hopefully drop back in the first and then pick up a 2nd in the process. Then we can take a RB in the 2nd round. -

Titans game: Tack on the back-to-back, UNTOUCHED identical wildcat runs for 40 yards where the DE crashed down massively leaving a NOTHING outside to prevent a decent gain. The 2nd run SHOULD'VE been a 51 yard TD if it were a running back who hasn't lost a step. 3 runs and he's dropped to 3.79 YPC b/c he doesn't pick up the consistent tough yards we desperately needed.
Cincy game: How about the 18 yard UNTOUCHED run where he couldn't finish the play for a TD? I could've pushed a double-wide through the hole (and daylight) he was provided. That was ALL blocking and zero Ricky. He had a 10 yarder at the end of the game where he was again UNTOUCHED again but couldn't break a big gain.
Add on an UNTOUCHED 10 yard run vs NE that was ALL BLOCKING and ZERO Ricky. That could've been broken for a long run but Ricky held us back.
Do you know what the following numbers represent?: 1, 8, 3, 8, 2, 6, 8, 6, 9, 8, 11, 6, 16, 8, 7, 28? These represent Ricky's longest run each game <when not including the 3 above mentioned EASY untouched runs>.
If you remove the 7 aforementioned CAKE runs, his YPC is 3.55. That's PATHETIC.
Out of the top 100 rushers, do you know where he ranks in 1st down %? How's 88th sound?
How's 2 TDs sound despite Sparano giving his backs more opportunities than his QB inside the redzone?
How'd he do on first down for us all year? How many times did he leave us in 3rd & long b/c he couldn't pick up yards on 1st & 2nd? What kind of threat or safety valve was he in the passing game? How many times did he fail to break through the 2nd level for a big play b/c he's lost a step? How many runs inside our opponents 35 did he fail on, leaving us kicking a FG rather than potentially scoring a TD?
Why do you ask if I watch Ricky play when it seems you only watch his stats? lol.
If you'd like a stat on how many times he rushed for 1 or less yards on 1st down, I'd be happy to look it up.
By the way...... you do realize there's something called a "SHELF LIFE" for running backs right? Quoting 2009 stats is meaningless, especially when you could see Ricky hitting a wall late in the season that carried over through 2010.TotoreMexico likes this. -
If you want to go to if that if this i could go that way too ,If we drafted Ryan we would be in better shape ,if we never drafted ronnie we would have a better player , If we won more games we would of made the playoffs ,Lets stick to the facts ,Fact is he ran for over 1000 yds in 2009 and in 2010 as a backup he ran for over 600 Thats far from done in my book.
He makes a perfect number 2 back and with a nice line he can break another 700 to 1000 yds easy. -
Along those lines though if you eliminate the 7 longest easy TD catches that say Desean Jackson had last year he'd have about 7 fewer TDs and about 350-400 fewer receiving yards. I bet that would hurt his 'averages' if you didnt count them

That being said I don't see how he can say he brings positivity after what he said about this regime

RIcky's not a good number 2 for MANY reasons:
a. He's old and can't be relied upon to carry the load if the #1 goes down.
b. He's lost a step.
c. He was ineffective gaining yards on 1st down. NOTHING about that says "perfect" #2.
d. He's now limited in his ability to make plays out of the backfield.
e. Clearly you choose to ignore the fact that Sparano wants a running back by committee where the backs COMPLIMENT each other more than they did with R & R. Tony wants the explosiveness of a Jahvid Best type, a guy who is a threat to score at any moment, which is NOT RICKY WILLIAMS. -

And day two. And shouldve won day three if not for special teams and the sputtering wc. There's no way a rookie gives us a chance against NY's defense if the Jets offense puts up 21 early points like Henne did. A rookie will most likely not carry the team against GB and Pitt in what shouldve been 2 wins. We shouldve began the season 6-1. I don't see a rookie doing that against Buff & Minne on the road followed by toughest 4 game stretch in football. -

I like Henne, but if we got Gabbert or Mallett, you start them unless Henne beats them out.
If we get Newton I puke! -

Iam about to watch the third game of the season from last year, after the 2 incredible weak *** fumbles that R AND R had that almost cost their team the game, iam anxious to see their disposition going into the next game, it should be nasty as hell if they have any heart...cause right now at this point which is after 2 games of the season, they're the only 2 players that are on my sh$# list..the rest of the team has played great.

Why would we be better off with him starting over Henne on day 1?
I am not in the Mallett camp as a fan. I would be just as happy if we went Ingram in the first and then someone like Stanzi in the 3rd...who gives you all the physical tools that you can get with Mallett minus the horrible decisions.djphinfan and ToddsPhins like this. -
and I agree on a rookie strarting if he beats Henne out. I just don't see that happening in year 1. I'm not sure if some people realize just how QB unfriendly our offense was last year. If that trend continues, it could destroy a rookie QB; if the trend doesn't continue, then I see no reason why we can't make a playoff run with a more experienced Henne while the rook develops. In the 2nd year is when I would expect the battle for #1 to occur. -

Look at Henne's stats from Michigan.
Again, I like Henne, but Mallett is growing on me more by the day. -
Again, I like Henne, but Mallett has all the tools. -

Go away Ricky. Have a nice rest of your career elsewhere, preferably out west.
