Wimbledon... longest tennis match ever (Updated-ends 70 to 68 in the fifth set!) I don't know if anyone else caught this today.. simply amazing and it's still not over. Deadlocked at 59 to 59 (GAMES! not tiebreak points) in the fifth set. Wimbledon is the only major, I believe, that doesn't have a tiebreaker in the fifth and deciding set. The match is the longest ever and had to be called today due to darkness for the second time in two days. Isner (USA) vs Mahut (FRA). Amazing. http://sports.yahoo.com/tennis/blog...adlocked-at-59-59-in-historic-?urn=ten,250772
That is unreal....Could you imagine how tired your arms and legs would be. I think they played over 7 hours today alone.
Yeah Isner could barely move between points... while Mahut was doing his best Boris Becker (jumping and diving at balls he couldn't get). It really makes for must see TV even if you're not a fan of tennis.
I saw the last few sets The big American guy was knackered I thought they would not be a loud to play for that long / get that tired
Today the Queen visited the Championships for the 1st time in 33 years. That is not the story, and that is amazing. These men are phenomenal athletes. To be able to still play at that level, for over 7 hours, and not lose the concentration. Just think of the mental ability it takes to accomplish this feat. Its almost superhuman.
and I edited the title in advanced mode... oh well... two years from now, people will look at the title and go, again???
John Isner lost today in a quick set. Can't blame him. He had to be dead tired. Sad to see him go this way.
