    For the record anyone can get team schedules from 1970 to current year...

    Since Shula took over in 1970 the franchise record shows at least 6 games won in a season by a margin of at least 13 points is 11 times (or 11 seasons) in 34 years (seasons), including this one...

    Though my research has shown that the franchise has had winning seasons even with winning fewer than then 6 games with that margin, it still interesting to know...

    2002- 6 games won with a team record of 9-7 missing the Play Offs..
    1990- 6 games won with a team record of 12-4, and lost on a Division round...
    1984- 9 games won with a team record of 14-2, lost the Super Bowl... this was as many know Marino's magical season...
    1983- 6 games won with a team record of 12-4, lost Division round... this was Marino's rookie year playing the last 11 games of the season, and putting up the 6 games...
    1979- 6 games won with a team record of 10-6, lost Division round...
    1978- 7 games won with a team record of 11-5, lost Wildcard round...
    1973- 7 games won with a team record of 12-2, won the Super Bowl...
    1972- 8 games won and went Undefeated...
    1971- 7 games won with a team record of 10-3-1 and lost the Super Bowl...
    1970- 6 games won with a team record of 10-4, and lost Division round... This was Shula's first year as the team's Head Coach as most know...

    Good work! Winning a bunch of games by double digits is a really good sign that a team is for real.

    The 2002 team of course choked away wins in the final two weeks as well, and should have been 11-5.

    I think that that points to ....is an offense capable of giving a defense a lead, and a defense capable of just shutting down opponents.

    Well, there is a long, dry stretch from 2002 to this year. I think the thing that has ired most Fins fans is that since Shues left, we have been about as inconsistent a team as there is in the league... And with any due respect to Wannstache, that 2002 season was with JJ's team...

    The bottom line is that, as fans, I grew up with the Fins knowing that we'd be competitive and 'in the race' nearly every year...that has changed since Marino retired...
