It looked like Buffalo should have had 13 seconds to try a spike or something. It was still a stupid call.
But they are going to try and run a FG team on the field with 11 secs left in that wind????? Makes no sense
You guys are blaming it on the refs.....its was the Buf players busy pushing and shoving downfield and not even concerned it they would get back to the LoS for FG attempt. Buf as an organization TOP to BOTTOM are loser mentality. That is horrific player knowledge, blaming any of it on the refs is missing the point and making excuses. Heck the Buf RB took the ball with him off the field to boot....COM'ON MAN!!!!!
You cant spike on 4th down.....those 13 sec are meaningless with BUF lineman down field, and the RB keeping possession of the ball as he runs off the field. LOL - the refs werent the problem!!!!!
Why not? At least you get the chance of the play. You can't make a FG if they won't even spot the ball. Also they could have just ran another play and tried to get the TD. At least their odds would have been better than the 0% they were given.
did you see 2 of the field goal attempts. one by the Bills almost made a right hand turn and the one by the Pats almost blew back to the kicker.
WRONG. Jackson was looking for a ref to give the ball to for a good 7 seconds before he ran off the field. None of them were looking.
It's amazing to me how inept this Buffalo team looks at times. Fred Jackson is making a statement for more playing time next season in the first half though.
You mean the 0% they gave themselves.....!!!! Please, acting like the refs blew something.....BUF players are just like their FO and Owner, Losers that cant think clearly on what their job is and responsibility is.
Alex, come on, 22 secs remain, no time outs, you run a dive up the gut on 3rd and 4..... Sorry, no excuses, you didnt tell your entire offense, here is the deal, this is what we are trying, and if we dont make it this is what each of your repsonsibilites are to let us try for 4th down play, or 4th down FG attempt. Sorry, Buf organization doesnt get an excuse there!
I did!..lol..but what was Buffalo trying to accomplish by running into the line?..Get closer?..Mind Boggling
Disagree, if the shoving match was a problem, throw the flag, they basically twiddled their thumbs and did not even try to spot the ball.. As for the Bills...cripes Jaruon rhymes with moron for a reason...sheesh...they should have tried at least one pass for the endzone, they never should have run the ball with :22 seconds left and no timeouts, and the players should have had enough discipline to avoid taking the Patriot bait...like Channing showed when Mat Lite was punching him..
A Flag for what? Its not unsportsmanlike, the Buf Center forgot his responsibility...plain and simple. What a joke!
The official explanation is they did not want to stop the clock and give the bills a chance to run another play...riiight...believe what thou wilt BDH. Cassel got dinged in the back on that sack...he sort of got speared..
Yeah, I am sure two sets of eyes can see it differently, did NE cause the BUF players from returning to the LoS? Did BUF honestly think with 22 sec on the gut dive, they would have enough time to clear the pile and set up for kick??? Still, I blame BUF staff and organizations...that was a loser call with loser players mindsets. Buf players cost them that FG attempt in my opinion.
I don't know, when you have 7 defenders on one linemen, I think you can call delay of game on the defense. But it was a stupid call to begin with, no excuses. Jauron is an idiot and Belichick owns him. However, I don't blame Jackson at all. Don't they have extra kicking balls? If so, it makes sense to get the ball off the field.
Thats my main point, but sure, I can see it from others eyes on extra items..... BUF QBs cant hold onto the ball when they get touched.....they blow!!!!
It really doesn't matter now. I think the Bills take SOME responsibility but it's unbelieveable to me that there wasn't a ref around to try and spot it.
This is one crazy game, after last yrs mud bowl against Pittsburgh, I never thought I'd see another game like that...but it's close fellas... First team to run a play action and then go deep wins the game...
4th and 5 from the 14 yard line ... and NE is going for it. That's how serious the wind is causing problems. And they converted. I hate Wes Welker.
I thank the heavens everday that the good Lord made me a Dolphin's Fan. Horrible D scheme for Buffalo.
Yeah it sounds stupid but that could be the game right there. I do think Jackson is going to break one for a TD at some point though. The Bills have absolutely nothing to lose by opening up their playbook a bit. I don't see why they refuse to pass the ball.
10-0 in those conditions is an insurmountable lead. I knew Buffalo would blow it. Just like in the game against the Jets.
Even with the wind the coaching staff refuses to throw the ball. That is why they will lose. New England wasn't afraid to throw the ball when they had to and it paid off. You would expect that the team with nothing to lose would show more guts. I guess not.
New England was even brave enough to throw into the wind a little bit. Buffalo just doesn't seem to care.
Completely agreed. Did the Bills think they were just going to run it 60 times and walk away with a 3-0 win?
