I was thinking about starting a full roster keeper league. it would be one where we have scoring and we get to tally up the points at the end of the season to determine the winner. i havent yet determined the scoring and it would require a crazy 60 rd draft to start the league  but once we got past that it would be a pretty cool. Basically I think we keep to the NFL schedule of trading deadlines and FA and draft. we could start the draft before we have the scoring part set up, after this league is done, and work on the scoring as we go through the three or four month draft. it would have to be with people who are here on a regular basis though

So it would be a complete do over? Every roster would be wiped?? And then we have the 60 round draft??? Do we start a new league with new team names and colors and stuff?? How do you determine scoring, based on what?

names could be changed. you start with zero players. the first year is the roughest since you have to go through the megadraft. we could maybe make the league run five years. once we get the megadraft out of the way, the league would mirror the NFL's season

the scoring would have to be determined but all players on a roster would be scored. games played, games stats, etc would all go into the mix. the key would be to not overhype skill positions over the more boring linemen positions. i'll work on a scoring formula over the next week or two

That would be pretty insane. How would it be done? Someone take the time to edit the Madden rosters? and Sim the season?

I think alot of stuff needs to be ironed our. Doesn't see playable in its current state.

that could be one option. the scoring is the trickiest thing. i have some ideas that i need to flesh out first and see how realistic they are and whether we could use them

Could just go off voting but the hardest part is drafting after 1 season. Then there is the whole trying to keep interest.

yeah. what i was thinking is we could vote after the mega draft like we do here but then the rosters would stay and we could use stats to score the rosters at the end of the season. The tricky part would be trades, cuts and FA pickups mid season. that assumes the 60 rd draft is over before the football season starts

Well I guess what we could do is Trades, Cuts, FA could all work through the forums then added in game after they get verified. Then for the draft could work on the forum as well but someone would have to add the players in game and the ratings could be mirror copies of a similar player. Like have 3 people agree that so and so is compared to Ricky Williams so they give similar stats.

Would be alot of work IMO.

If things get ironed out to work I'd be down. Seems like the ideal league I've been waiting for since forever? A Madden fantasy draft x10

on the scoring system... maybe use a combo of actual stats plus pff rankings? Trick there is that the pff rankings run a week behind the actual games I believe... or... rather we could do what we do here, make it voter based at the END of the season. The teams are in place before the season starts, not sure if the rosters would have to be locked there or not? That's something to be discussed. But you could have sort of a playoff voter based system (I believe we did this back on the old message board). Where you vote on the playoff teams (by division).... then you vote on the matchups thereafter? I think it would be the easiest, simplest way to settle things. A scoring based system would be difficult to implement...

    Sounds fun. I'd do it.

If say in yr 3 someone had to leave we could sell our teams? Could we get close to real life mkt value?

i was thinking the same thing in regards to pff and tweaking it by adding certain stat categories, games played, sp teams stats so your depth becomes important, etc...i'm not sure how we would have a playoff format though. it might have to be a simple crowning of the champ after the SB

We could mirror the NFL and have an uncapped year this year but next year, provided they get an agreement in place, we would go back to a salry cap

So what are the details? I think we should select teams with randomizer for one and not have a 53 rd draft. Also need a system were we can bid multiple years on contracts with a cap penalty for cuts.

I think the draft is the most attractive part of the whole deal. How would you build your team? What position would you address first? The obvious one is quarterback, but not if you're picking out of the top 10.
