i wish we could make some sort of deal with the giants and get manningham (a talented young receiver who played with henne in meeeechigan). i was thinking maybe we could trade ronnie brown (or another player that's "on the block") and we receive manningham and a later round pick (2nd, 3rd, or 4th)?

i like ronnie just as much as anyone here, but would anyone be upset if something like this took place?

id be opposed to it. we know what ronnie can do.....if he doesnt get hurt.
and we have enough receiver prospects now. and we finally have a STUD receiver.

anyone else we have available wouldnt fetch as high a price as ronnie, so it really isnt the same question with any other name besides his.

there is a lot of talk about us drafting spiller. i dont see that happening unless we trade ronnie for a 2nd or something. IF this happens ricky maybe becomes our #1 rb and gets enough touches to become our all time leading rusher before the end of this next season.
spiller can return kick offs and/or punts. id bet money he would be consistently better then ginn at this. hell, he might even be a better reciever then ginn was too.

So I noticed you're new here. Manningham could never give is the production that Ronnie has the potential for considering we already got a Stud receiver. It wouldn't really help us leaps and bounds to go Offense again unless we can get Frank Gore for a 6th which is impossible.

I'm not. Face it he's had two season ending injuries over the last three yrs...if we can get something solid for him and draft lets say CJ Spiller in the draft. Cut the ties.

some of you failed to notice what i put after i mentioned ronnie brown: or another player that's "on the block" lol what i should have just asked is if anyone would be opposed to a trade that would bring manningham over here and land us another pick in this draft.

btw, just to clarify, if it would involve ronnie, i'd hate to see him go as he's one of my favorite players, but his injuries have me kind of concerned like big e mentioned.

I'm sorry, but I fail to see the point in this thread. It seems sort of random -- "Hey guys would you be opposed if we traded for Mario Manningham and also received a draft pick? .. Oh, okay just wondering." But I suppose it IS the offseason so I can't blame you.

But really, I doubt the Giants would be interested in Ronnie or another player that we have on the block. Regardless, I don't think it's on the top of Tuna & Co's list to acquire another WR unless it's in a late round in the draft. With so many holes, they probably have their minds set on filling them (ex: linebacker, safety, note tackle, right guard, etc).

As a side note, I don't really think Brown would fetch more than a 3rd-4th rounder at best. As mentioned, the guy has 2 season ending injuries and is coming off a serious injury. As someone else said in another thread, chances are the guy can't even pass a physical at this point.

Fortify the WR corps and create another hole in the offense to fill ?? No thanks. That said, why would they go after Manningham when they had Ginn ?? Same type of WR, similar build and strengths ?? I think they are ok with the WR crew right now...

Why would the Giants want to trade Manningham?

    They wouldn't.

Giants build through the draft and keep young players that are good.

This WR corps got exactly what it was missing on a Wednesday, the alpha #1WR. Experts agree that we had a solid, supporting type corps, and now we have the one guy that brings it all together. I dont understand all this talk of trading for another WR, or even still drafting Bryant.

I expect this is the corps is what we're going into the season with, even though I strongly disagreed with moving Ginn for a pick that may not make the team.

oh, i don't know...maybe because this is a message board lol

and it's really not that random, henne and manningham had great chemistry over at michigan.

manningham and ginn are the same types of receivers? i mean, they have some similarities, but c'mon..

Does anyone really think that this regime would make another big trade for a W/R anytime soon, with all of the needs we still have and just giving up two second round picks for Marshall? We still have huge question marks at NT, OLB'(s) and FS.

i'm sure if tuna and co. could get a pick back from a trade like this and rid themselves of an expensive (and injury prone) player, i don't see why they wouldn't pull the trigger.
