hypothetically speaking of course.
Given the recent story and Ross' previous dalliance with Harbaugh, would you be willing to trade a draft pick for him in 2015? Assuming Hickey/Philbin doesn't work out and Harbaugh can't agree to an extension with Frisco, I think the odds are pretty high Ross would do everything in his power to acquire him.
The question is would he be worth a draft pick + huge salary + personnel control.

I definitely would give him the keys but as usual Ross has practically made that imposible by demanding preconditions as to which employees should be retained.
We will never get a high profile HC or GM until he makes a clean sweep of those people who have proved to be losers if the candidate demands it.adamprez2003 likes this. -

Give me San Fran's OL and they can keep their coach.

Yeah but I don't see this happening. IF there was a serious power struggle in SF he would probably win and I don't see money being an issue. Something crazy would have to happen for him to become available.
-
No way.. I just could not watch him week in week out jumping up and down on our sidelines throwing his teddy, dummy and whatever else he can out of his cot when a decision goes against him. Guy can coach agreed but Jesus he is a moron as mentioned earlier.

A draft pick for a coach? When has that ever worked out????...

I would be happy to have had the last couple of seasons the 49ers have had under him. Hell yes, why is it even a question?
-
Hypothetically maybe, but I feel the Dolphins would have difficulty recruiting any successful coach to Miami.
-
I would do it.
-
Ross would

Not just yes. Hell yes.

But, it will never happen. -
Sure. Even if it didn't work out, it means Ross would be hands off and probably some of the **** smears involved with football operations of this team will be ejected.
-
most definitely.
-
Hell no.
For one his contract is up after this next year and if SF is seriously listening to offers for him then I think it's likely they won't resign him.
Secondly, he behaves like every small, spoiled child I've ever encountered.
Third, it should be telling that a team like SF, which has been successful by most people's standards, doesn't seem to want him back. -
I'ma get flamed for this...but no. In fact, I think he's over rated, in that his star is going to burn out very quickly, pretty soon. I think he's going to lose his team at some point in the near future and they are going to spiral out of control. He is a loose cannon, IMO.

The last time we gave up a draft pick for a HC, it worked out pretty good. I'm not sure it works that way anymore, there are different rules now but I'd do it...

....why does sf not want him back...

Which pick?

Harbaugh is a clown. But, this organization is run by clowns. So, I don't know.
-
Don't believe SF is splitting with Harbaugh.
Not at all.
Guy turned that team around completely.
They'd be idiots. -

They did try, they didn't, .....who knows? There does seem to be a geniune divide between him and management for whatever the reason. I doubt its money. If he doesn't have a deal in place going into the last year of his deal then you really have to start and wonder what really is going on. -
-
Deadspin has a nice summary of the alleged issues with Harbaugh and 49ers management:
Has Jim Harbaugh Worn Out His Welcome In San Francisco? -
Yes
-
People seem to forget SF was more inept than Miami over the last decade before Harbaugh
-
He became CEO of the 49ers in 2011, and then hired Jim Harbaugh while elevating Trent Baalke to GM.
That's kind of the point. A lot of people behind the scenes in the 49ers organization will have had their egos inflated by the team's success, and are likely to be a little bit miffed that Jim Harbaugh is being given all of the credit. It doesn't help that Harbaugh himself is kind of a jerk and really wears on people that work with him behind the scenes.
I'm not saying Harbaugh will for sure split with the 49ers. But I am saying that there's a reason the Cleveland Browns and the University of Texas and the USC Trojans all came sniffing this off season.
And it's especially telling that the Browns came sniffing, because their General Manager at the time was Mike Lombardi who remains to this day close friends with Jim Harbaugh. Would anyone be so naive as to think the two friends never speak casually, off the record?
In fact I heard after Lombardi was fired that one of the big reasons he and Banner were fired was because they could not follow through on their promises to Jimmy Haslam about who they could hire at head coach in place of Rob Chudzinski. Connect the dots here. Mike Lombardi and Joe Banner promised they could bring in Harbaugh or perhaps one or two alternatives (probably one of them being Chip Kelly in 2012)...and they continually struck out. They were fired for that. -
Ultimately, I think Harbaugh knows how to get the most out of a QB, and that goes along way with the talent the 49ers have.DOLPHAN1 and Aqua4Ever04 like this.
